Jazz select Udoka Azubuike with pick 27 & trade Tony Bradley + pick 38 to the Pistons

For what its worth, I'm in town this weekend, staying at the Grand, and Azubuike is on the same floor as I am. The first time i saw him I thought "dude looks a lot leaner than his film". Saw him again this morning (guessing he is headed to practice) and made sure to really creep him out by scanning a grown man, head to toe, and dude is way leaner than his Kansas film from, what, 8-9 months ago. Anyway, thought i would share and looks like he is taking this serious.

Did you touch him?

What I first noticed is how good his hands were. The highlights of course only show the "highlights" but he seems to naturally catch anything thrown his way. I can't wait to see how Ingles can throw lobs to him.

This is a serious question. I noticed in the transactions page that an Australian team signed Jock Landale former St Mary's center to a one year deal. Why didn't the Jazz trade their first round pick for a future first round pick and not worry about buying the 2nd round pick that resulted in drafting Elijah Hughes. It seems to me DL went car shopping and paid 75% over sticker price. Maybe our first round pick becomes the 2nd coming of Akeem but Landale could have been procured for nothing. He averaged 11 points and 4 boards per game in Europe last season. Or the front office could have brought back Willie Reed and George King for the same price. I'm mystified why the front office chose the path they did.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say....because the Jazz like the upside of Azubuike?
