What's new

Jazz starters according to Jazz produced Media Notes:

Raja Bell? I guess he's the new "Jarron Collins" of the Utah Jazz...no talent, but works really hard and the coaches like him.

The only reason this roster is even remotely exceptable is because of the compacted season. Otherwise moves would have to be made and will have to be made sooner or later. I don't think it makes for a great locker room where people are confused about their roles. We have all sorts of guys who probably think they should be starting. Somebody is going to get their feelings hurt sooner or later. None of the vets are are locked up long term. And someone is going to want to go somewhere else for more minutes. So we need to try and captalise on some of these assets soon or lose them for nothing. Not to mention we are going to deny our young guys valuable development minutes.

I'll say it: where the hell is Jeremy Evans in that depth chart? Hasn't anybody noticed this? There is no way that can be the final depth chart. There is no way Bell OR Okur should be getting minutes over Evans. He is way to talented to just keep on the bench.

I'm ok with Okur starting. He adds a wrinkle that makes us hard to guard and him paired alongside Al can be nasty offensively. This is clearly just a preseason starting line up though, it will probably be different when we play @Utah.
Conspicuously absent in your post is any mention of defense.

Which is exactly the flawed thinking that the falsely rumored hard-nosed-about-defense Sloan ironically employed in the Boozer-Okur (i.e., Matador-Torero) era. #Ole

Get the torches and pitchforks!

Then, when the starting lineup on Wednesday is Harris-Burks-Jefferson-Hayward-Favors, we'll put flowers in our hair, hold hands, and sing Kumbaya.

It's a preseason lineup. If it's still the lineup in March, then it torches and pitchfork time.
