What's new

Jazz Starters: Harris, Hayward, Bell, Favors, Jefferson

If a reporter came to you and asked how you felt about your demotion would you say you were good with it and had no complaints, or would you express disappointment, comparing your job to Millsaps job is dumb, and completely different situations. He is in the spotlight you aren't.

Nothing he said will damage the team. All he did was express his disappoint in not starting. He didn't call out his coach or any players owners or anything! All he said was he worked hard and is disappointed in not starting. He also said he agrees with Ty's choice and said he would do what's best for the team. Sounds like a team player to me.

You started the comparison but i digress. As for Milsap again I singled him out and I did not mean to. I have not read his comments. Just saying athletes that DO complain annoy me.

As for if a reported asked me about my opinion on it I would spin some "party line" BS and make everything appear fine. Don't aire the dirty laundry so to speak. Like a family problem. It is handled between the family but I dont talk about it with anyone else.

Again I did not mean to imply Milsap did anything wrong. My bad. Just saying in general when someone complains to non involved parties it gets on my nerves. Just the way I was raised.

As has been mentioned it is more about who finishes the games and who gets the minutes in game. Personally, I would rather see a Favors/Millsap combo to finish games. That is a stronger defensive set up and possibly a better flow for the offense too. Jefferson is a liability defensively at the end of games.

LOL @ the thought of Al Jeff not starting. Even though I don't have him as part of the big picture future he is currently our best player easily.

Would rather have Millsap play the SF than benching him. This is crazy.

Coming off the bench and being "benched" are 2 entirely different things. Every team needs a solid 6th man, and often the 6th man can be one of the most important players and potent weapons (e.g. Ginobili). It matters not whether said player starts, what matters is how many minutes he plays and whether he is contributing enough to be the finisher. Ask most players and and I bet they would much rather be on the floor for the last 5 minutes of every game rather than the first 5.

Is that a joke? Al Jefferson is not our best player.

Depends on how you define "best". If by best you mean the player that will likely be the most productive, likely have the highest PER and be the go-to guy, then of course it is Jefferson currently. You could argue that Millsap is in the running here, but going by stats, size, position, etc. you would have to give the nod to AJ.

If by best you mean potentially down the road could develop into the better player, then most likely it is not AJ, as he is mostly a known quantity at this point in his career. But in that regard Favors, Hayward, Burks all would likely have more potential, possibly even Millsap again. Whether they become the most productive player on the team or have the highest PER and all that Jazz (see what I did there?) still remains to be seen. Until one or more of them step up and knock Jefferson off that spot, obviously AJ is our best player.

I am to direct to post things like this.
