Jazz trade for Niang

Does that take up the whole exception or does it just subtract from it? Not quite sure how trade exceptions work, if someone more knowledgeable could weigh in.

Pretty sure it takes the whole thing and you cant divvy it up, could be wrong.

Niang is now 32, on the verge of having 10 years in the NBA. I remember when the Jazz picked him out of the Gleague. I think he started on a 2-way contract.

Kind of sad for Niang. Being a Boston area kid, Im sure it was his dream to play for the Celtics.

My understanding is you can break it up. Should still have about $18M left on the TPE to use.

TBH Niang is perfect for our team. He makes players better, is a great guy, and may have a trade value at the deadline for a team looking to add a shooter for a 2nd rounder.

Niang and Anderson (assuming we keep him) are the type of vets you want on a young team line ours.

They help the young guys develop without taking away usage.

I'm happy with this one.

Hope we don't live to regret this. I wish we'd had a look at Luis in SL. Maybe we can flip Niang. Don't really want him taking minutes.
