Jazz trade John collins

Great trade creating more financial flexibility.

I imagine Love gets waived.

Anderson isn’t on a bad contract and our perimeter defense is awful. He’s a good defender, good guy vet who I wouldn’t be opposed to keeping around. But if we trade him, I’m fine with that too.

Good job on this deal.

World is our oyster. Next years starting 5 will have Walt, Ace, Lauri, Kessler and whomever we pick. Nice thing is you can swap Ace and Lauri around positionally and draft any of Dybantsa, Peterson, or Boozer.

I believe the Jazz don't have to pay either guy until the regular season starts. Why not see if the injury bug strikes and there is a sudden market for one or both?
If you have a deal that nets anything positive, I think you just take it. Keep churning things until you get something you want out of it. Moving Collins saved the team money and opened up playing time for the young guys. That in itself is a win for now. I’m curious if there’s anything else that can be gained in the meantime.

CBA/Cap bro’s, what’s the path to Kuminga now?

I know most don’t want him next to Ace……but I do.

Two ways this could be done.

1) Cap space+Warriors don’t match. The Jazz could create $18.7M in space by waiving Springer+Martin. They could create a little bit more depending on what they do with Anderson and Love.

2) TPE sign and trade. The Jazz should create about a $20M TPE from this trade. Kuminga could fit into that.

I suppose the Warriors could also do Anderson for Kuminga if they want Anderson back.
