Jazz trade Olynyk and Ochai to Toronto for Kira Lewis, Otto Porter, and a 2024 1st round pick

I'm not a fan of this trade but it clearly shows that the jazz actually do like this draft contrary to what has been said. They get worse to keep their own pick plus pick up a late 1st.

I don't love these trades. They opened up space for 2 rookies. Got two okish picks. Traded 3 useful guys.
This season wasn't ever going to end up with a championship, so it's not that big of a deal.
Let's go Hendricks and Sensibaugh.

At the same time no one thought Lauri would be this good. Sometimes predicting the future is unsuccessful
So what are you predicting? That Hardy was really stupid not playing the two rookies, when they were better than who we had in the rotation?

Sure, playing the rookies is good long-term and Hendricks really, really needs to play or the pick starts to look pretty bad. But for this season it's a major downgrade. Not to mention that gutting the team is deflating for the guys that stay, as we saw last year.

Side note: Ainge now has some quickly acquired ammo for another deal in terms of space and picks. Curious where he goes with this.
He does but there’s also very limited runway on this. Those assets will be much less valuable once we make a selection.

Three picks? I thought we got one second in the Simone trade and the first in the ko trade. Where’s the third?

Our own that we wouldn't give to okc if we suck bad enough now.

What will happen is they will let it ride and see how things gel but if they start losing games there will be some sore knees/backs happening to guys like Lauri/Clarkson/Sexton.
Agreed.

No, I really dont.

Walker is going to get a lot more minutes. Also Hendricks (who you said was a great shooter and defense)

If you have hated on KO (which Elizah has) this trade should be viewed as adding wins.
Who do you think is going to help the jazz more? KO or porter and lewis? That is the question that eliza was answering. Its that black and white and simple.

Im saying that as recently as last year we were much better than expected after making trades. Also that predicting the future isn't always accurate.

Also I have been saying all along that hardy should tighten the rotation by giving guys more minutes and playing less guys (10 man rotation is too many). So kessler should get more minutes for sure and guys like lauri, collins, sexton, dunn might also get more minutes which could be beneficial to winning.
