JAZZ vs. Bobcats - Orlando Pro Summer League - 1pm et 7/5/10

Hayward's game today reminded me of AK's first summer league game back in 01. Didn't look great but did a lot of things good.

I agree. The pick is promsing. Although I was originally not thrilled with the pick, I am coming around. The easiest thing in the league is to draft a player that can score in the D-league. (see Morris Almond). It is much harder to draft the skills that we witnessed in Hayward today. The boy can play. If Gaines had been more concerned with running the team, Hayward would have put up better all around numbers. Hayward had some real nice cuts to the hoop that Gaines missed. D-will doesn't miss.

I missed the game. Does anybody know if it will be uploaded anywhere for replay? thanks.

I saw Rod Benson only played 5 minutes. Did he suck or are they saving him for camp and don't want anyone else to know about him?

Seriously - I shouldn't be so hard on him. He looked almost as good as Lance Stephenson is looking.

I think it's safe to say Lance Stephenson at 40 was a good pick. Not that I think he will carry this over into the NBA or anything, but guy has dominated the summers for as long as he has been playing ball. I don't know why anybody wouldn't think he would do this.

On another note, Orton looked like a guy that averaged 3 and 3 as a Freshman today. He was awful.

Summer league numbers matter very little, Gaines really needs to realize that. I mean, Matthews made the team last year with very average summer league numbers, and look at where he is at now. I think attitude is the biggest thing our FO is looking for in SL, which means Yada is gone.

He is an obvious project. Honestly, he should of stayed in College, he would of been a top ten pick by his junior year.

L-o-n-g thread, so I haven't read all of it. Anyway, James Augustine came to Illinois the same year (2002) as Deron Williams. He was a 2nd round pick of the Magic. Yeah, he might find a spot on our roster if we don't bring Boozer back.

Hayward played good. Did a good job at letting the game come to him and not force anything. Gains should be looking to pass the ball. If it was D-Will Hayward would have had at least 3 more buckets on his good cuts. Evans was really bad. got pushed around like crazy under the basket and lost 4 rebounds that can remember by not being able to hold a box out.
