Jazz VS Dallas Game Thread - WE WON!!!!!!

Did Hood have that penetration dribble, turnaround jumper in college?

How did he fall so far?

Overshadowed by Jabari for one thing.

Every draft board analysis had him listed as an SF - so they over-emphasized his lack of length/strength to play that position at the pro level. Which is hilarious because the first time I saw him play in a Jazz uniform I said that guy is a 2.

Also he was a transfer so he was 1-2 years older than most sophomores.

He is going to be good. I can't believe he is only in his 2nd year. And has that kill you mentality. Isn't afraid to shoot, is down right vicious on the PnR. The way he uses his body and keeps his defender on the back of his body to get deeper in the key is a beautiful thing to watch. Smart, very smart.

Plus I think the players proved to themselves and to the fans that they belong amongst the West's elites.

They belong among the West's second tier.

Tier 1: (1a) warriors (1b) spurs, thunder.
Tier 2: clippers, grizz, rockets, blazers, mavericks, jazz

There is a big gap between tier 1 and 2 in my opinion and frankly I think we are nowhere near Tier 1. Next year?

TBH, I'd rather see a layup than a dunk in most situations. Expends less energy and less chance of coming down awkwardly. And still counts the same.

Actually on a dunk you can hang on the rim if people are under you and land safely.

Layups you still run fast and jump, but have to focus on the goal to finish the play which can make your landing awkward.

Second unit would have Burks and either Hayward or Hood as the two wings (if QS gives those 3 around 32 mins each). Plus Lyles looks like he's ready for increased minutes and shots. Neto could be a decent backup PG.

The way he uses his body and keeps his defender on the back of his body to get deeper in the key

I think this is the best part of his game. And his elevation and accuracy on the mid range shot. Deadly
