Jazz vs. Knickerbockers 1/12/10 @ 7:00 p.m. MST

Every time Miles scored tonight I would look over at Trout and see him sitting there with his arms folded. All I can think of is that he must have been too in-awe of that great performance to cheer!

The Knicks gave up 130 points -- Miles was exactly what we all knew he was, a chucker. In a fast paced, high scoring game (er, and against zero defense) he'll get his score on. Meanwhile, they made 3 after 3 after 3. We were a few plays away from losing this game.

They needed more Hayward.

The ball movement was great, don't get me wrong,

I still see lots of opportunities for one..more..pass that i think we miss.

Everybody looked good offensively, including my favorite players Bell and Kirilenko.
I wonder if anyone gets credit for a rebound on those tap-outs by AK. I am guessing not, but they still help the team a lot.

If it's a controlled tip out, like Kirilenko's was, he'll get credit for an offensive rebound.

Not quite. 5-13. He shot his free throws well though

D-Will has been a little off of late on his shooting. Just above 30% over the last 4 games. You hope it is'nt something that is bothering him again.

...he's been off on his shooting AND throwing the ball away too much! If he was his normal self....we'd be on a 10 game winning streak right now!

Great game offensively, but the lax defense on the perimeter is a non-trivial concern.

I liked the defense on Amare. Even though he still got 22 points, recognize that half of that was on free throws. He shot only 5-11 from the field, which is an indicator that we were vigilant on both denying him the entry pass and hacking him when he did get it. That is, we made him work for that 22 points.

Felton had a good game (maybe his best when playing against Deron?). A bit of a concern really, especially since DWill historically does well against him.

Ah well. Good win. Now time to gear up for Cleveland. After Cleve's travesty against LAL, hopefully the guys don't get overconfident about the game. Wounded/cornered animal and all that.

Fun game to watch, but I also think a very important game for the offense. Because the Knicks are a little lackadaisical the game slowed down just enough so everybody could see everything. Cleveland, Washington, and Jersey should be pretty similar. Like a little training wheels window to get everyone in sync.

Unfortunately, I couldn't watch the entire game. However, I was REALLY encouraged by what I saw from Memo and the additions he can make to the second unit.

I liked seeing Watson push the tempo and then, once in the half-court set, the inside-out game with Memo.

Like I said, I didn't get to see too many instances of this, but I think this is a good sign of things to come.

Some extra commentary on this facet of last night's game would be appreciated...

Without analysing in depth - i felt that memo added both and nice offensive touch and looked big on the boards - after memo's few months before his injury last season - I wasnt sure if I really thought he would add much - but from his last two games - if he can consistently hit the jump shots - which are hard to stop - then he will be a very important ingredient in the playoff run.
