What's new

Jazz vs Lakers | Friday November 26th @ 7:00pm

What the hell is so funny about it? It's ****ing true. They get up for Boston, not us.

I call ********. This game is huge considering the ramifications and considering the history. Trust me, the lakers will be up for this game.

Yeah I'm sure Al's strength will be a huge problem for Gasol. Or not........https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjsFu882zks

the last one on Howard was 100% charge. The 1st one was questionable and the one by Hedo was in the 3 second line but Hedo made no effort to go up and looked like he threw an elbow, I think it's called wrong but can see the why it was called that way.

God did i just defend Gasol? I feel dirty.

Laker's suck ***. There now I feel better.

If Kobe shoots just as many/more free throws than our entire team, we lose.

If not, we win.

History has proven this.

When the refs decide to give the game away to Kobe, the Lakers are unstoppable.

When they call games fair, our chances of winning increase dramatically.

We should win. But the refs combined with our usual lack of courage against these guys leave me to believe we'll lose. This Jazz team has proven a lot with big wins on the road. But the real test is against the Lakers. We'll soon find out how good this team really is.

Yes and no. As with all other games up to this point, a loss doesn't necessarily tell us a lot but a win does. The last incarnation of the Jazz weren't exactly the picture of grit, as much as the fans wished that they did. This team has already proven to have more of it, we just have to hope that the Jazz are patient with getting good shots and playing the game the right way. If they do that, this will be a good game. However, if the Jazz start shooting 20-footers off the dribble early in the shot clock and refuse to get a damn defensive rebound, then this will not be pretty.

Actually, I take some of that back. If the Jazz settle into their bad shots like this team has more of a tendency to do and can't grab a defensive board, it tells us a lot, win or lose.

...the refs combined with our usual lack of courage against these guys...

I agree. There has been a size factor that has really worked against us when playing the Lakers, but I think most of the problem is mental. The Jazz haven't looked like they believe they can beat the Lakers for some time now.

Most of the problem is mental in the sense that not putting effort toward challenging the opposing team. But another issue has been height. Boozer was often pwned because he couldn't get a shot off. Millsap didn't help the height situation much better. AJ provides an inch or two of improvement, and he's starting to move his feet more, but I'm not sure how much an improvement that he will be over Boozer. I would give Elson and Fes some time against the Faker bigs to annoy them and wear them down. Given that Elson performed better than Fes in the last give, I would give him first chance. Make FE the first sub off the bench. And when Odom is on the floor, it's not necessarily the time to go small if the paint becomes porous.

A big strike in Utah's favor is that Raja and Ronnie have seemed to figure out how to produce better in the past couple of games, and they are two of the biggest Kobe gadflies in the league. RP also matches up well against Shannon Brown, and Watson can probably handle Fisher and maybe even Steve Blake.

It's all about the interior defense and the paint defense, though. Don't let them get easy lay-ins, and don't let them have easy outside shots.

There's an actually an idiot in that Fakers thread complaining about the possibility of refs costing THE FAKERS the game tonight. Just effing laughable.

Tonight's officials: Greg Willard, Courtney Kirkland, and Violet Palmer.

The Jazz are ****ed.

i think its in the refs playbook to give kobe at least 10 free throws a game. Its a rule required by david stern.
