True, most anyone would look better with DWill, Udoh may contribute more right away, but I believe Davis will be the better player. Again he is 3 years younger than Udoh and no the fact that I have been a UNC fan since I was 2 (from NC) has nothing to do with my belief in Davis over Udoh.

I went with Babbit, hoping he's the next Carmelo Anthony. Otherwise I would go with George or Whiteside.

I'm still wondering what Henry can do that Miles and Matthews can't, although Henry is probably more gifted offensively.

I feel like the Jazz could bring in a player like Larry Sanders and make him a great post player if he works hard. I just have a hard time getting excited about Aldrich or Udoh.

I think he moves a lot better than people give him credit for...but his jump shot form is ugly no doubt. It seems to go in most of the time though, that's what matters. Seems capable of making an open 15 footer.

Sorry if this has already been posted somewhere on the board already...

Thanks for posting. These guys all look pretty good. Honestly, they all look like they move better than Monroe does, except maybe Orton.

Anyone remember Felton Spencer's jumper? I will say this though, it looks like Aldrich will probably be the most reliable rebounder out of the group, just because he's wide and knows how to take up space in the lane.

I voted for Xavier Henry but if he doesn't win and Ekpe Udoh is a couple shy of winning then mark me down for Udoh because thats the order I would vote them in not freakin' Aldrich, come on!

Aldrich is going to be a very nice towel boy and good company for Kosta for years to come.

Obsessed with Aldrich a bit? Damn dude, give it a rest. How about talking about who you actually want the Jazz to draft rather than being such a one-topic poster. That's gotta get boring after awhile I would think...

Ahh the memories. Reminds me of Rainhut.

Even I could block Aldrich's shot. And c'mon, Cole, visit a damn dentist.

More I see of Cole, the more I want to throw up in my mouth. I say either open the door for trading AK's expiring by drafting a wing like Babbitt, or roll the dice and go with the only big who MIGHT develop into a force inside to go against the Lakers: Whiteside. Hassan is a huge risk. But Aldrich will NEVER develop into a championship center. We'd have a team with one superstar (Deron) and four good, but not great starters: Matthews, Aldrich, CJ and Millsap. That lineup ain't winning a championship.

IMO, the only way to rebuild this team is to let Boozer and Kyle walk and wipe $17M off the books, then use AK's expiring to bring in a quality starter and a decent back-up: $17M ought to buy that at the deadline. Adjust for what it's going to take to re-sign Fes, Matthews and the #9 pick, and the Jazz should be right around the tax threshold.

More Whiteside

Check out the match up between him and Ed Davis at the 5:50 mark. He's having his way against teams like Memphis and UNC. He's a force inside. He's young, but I don't see how you can call him a project. He's more polished than Mutombo was in college.

I'll bet you he goes ahead of Udoh, Patterson and Ed Davis. It wouldn't surprise me at all if teams are purposely keeping quiet about him and letting the media roast him.

I can just see Millsap trying to guard him in practice, giving up 5 inches at the PF spot.

Oh look-- more highlights.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UlPMxs-87o&feature=related

In that game on the clip, Whiteside went 3-8 (7 pts, 2 FTs) with 4 boards and 3 blocks. The guy in the other uniform that Whiteside was guarding went 7-14 (19 pts, 6 FTs) with 10 boards and 3 blocks. Whiteside had his way on that block. Davis had his way in the game.

As for Memphis, they're like an all guard team with poor frontcourt talent. You have to look at Whiteside's matchups against legit big men. He doesn't stack up well in that department.

I think Whiteside could be a decent shot blocker in the NBA if he puts on some weight, but I don't see him a good fit in a Jazz uniform. He needs to be brought along slowly and by a coach who will nurture him. As you know, that will not happen in Utah with Jerry Sloan. His body language after the workout was of someone who was dejected. Yes, he has big potential, but risking that with the #9 pick isn't something I think the Jazz would be willing to do.

Another point I forgot, Whiteside's defense on that block of Davis was deplorable. He gave position, let Davis get all the way under the basket (nice footwork by Davis), and bailed himself out with the block.

I noticed that too. I think that Whiteside had outsized everyone so much in High School and his first year of College that he plays to block the shot rather than good position defense first. I think he will learn it, but he is a project.

I was talking about the play at 5:50 on the youtube clip. In that play, Whiteside played solid position defense, Ed Davis turned and faded and Whiteside got a piece of it. But yeah, he blocked Ed Davis deep in the lane on that other play earlier in the clip too.

Whiteside patrols the paint on defense. He uses his length to distance himself from the guy he's guarding and cut off driving angles. He doesn't need to get right up on his man because he can react to the play and block the shot.

Whiteside definitely needs to get stronger but I like that he is looking to challenge shots and get rebounds. I'm not sure he's worthy of the 9th pick but if they were to trade back in later or trade the 9th for a later pick Whiteside could be a really good defensive player in the league.

At 5:50, Whiteside leaves Davis to block the shot of somebody else. No one turned and faded. It was a pick and roll. It was a good block.

All i can say is that every year KOC and Sloan have talked about "getting longer," getting someone that can block shots. Sure Hassan is a bit thin. He's 20 years old! He'll put on some weight. And with his incredible wing span, he can get beat and still block the shot from behind.

I've watched his interview with the Jazz a couple of times. Honestly, I don't know what the fuss is about. He was disappointed that he played poorly. Hey, I remember the time I screwed up a job interview with a recruiter when I was at college. I can just imagine how I would have sounded if someone stuck a microphone in front of me right after.

So, Hassan is finding the transition tougher than he thought. That's to be expected. He said a couple of times he just wnats to work hard to improve and that defense is what sets him apart from the other big guys. Wow! Should he have said he wants to come in, score 20/per and be ROY? I voted for Babbitt in this poll, but I'm voting for Hassan from here on out.
