Why does the government need to force the minimum wage to increase when the market can drive up the wages on its own. A gluttony of low skilled labor comes into a town, that will force the wages to stay at minimum wage. Now, you want the government to increase the wages with force because of the original issue which the government created kept the wages low?

But this isn't how the market works at all. Nor did the government create the initial issue.

For one, the market may not simply drive wages up, but rather force those companies to leave. In a globalized economy, those factories and plants don't need to be in Springfield. They don't even need to be in the US, and Canada is just a couple of hundred kilometres from Springfield. Not just any Canada either, but the part with all the people.

And again, the government didn't create this. You could argue the companies in question did by hiring cheaper labour, but labour follows jobs. If the factories were opened elsewhere, the immigrants would go to those places.

Remember that the reason these companies moved into Springfield was that the local government was desperately trying to attract them and revitalized the place. This is a city that's been steadily losing population over the past 50 years. I'm sure the companies were offered something by the city to move to that area, but then if that didn't happen, there would still be no jobs for the locals.

I get that you think the ideal situation would have been for all these companies to come into Springfield, only hire locals at high wages, and do all this out of the goodness of their hearts, but it's not realistic. Huge swathes of the country are demographically and economically dying, and people are upset about anything that even remotely helps improve that.

I mean, what are you suggesting should've been done here since you didn't want Haitians in? How can Springfield gain jobs and population and expanding its tax base without this?

He has stated that he thinks that there are risks associated with the COVID-19 vaccine and that for certain people the risk may outweigh the benefit of taking it. For instance 19 year old athletes in good overall health probably shouldn't take it.

It’s 1 issue right now. Pausing immigration to clean up our federal house. Trump and Vance are closer to that than Kamala and Tim.

We can not keep letting in everyone from everywhere. It will never allow our country to get its **** together.

Basic Example:
America has 10 domestic jobless workers that need help and assistance. America has enough resources for 10 workers. 3 jobs become available, which is a competitive market for the business and workers. All 3 businesses want the best from those 10 workers so they increase their offerings to attract them.
Well America decides to let in 6 more foreign workers that all need assistance. But America only has resources for 10 total workers. So they now have to spread the resources over 13 total people resulting is less assistance for all, yet we helped more overall people.
The businesses look to hire those 3 jobs now have more applicants that give them a better chance at getting the 3 of the best workers, so they don’t have to increase their wage offerings.
This continues and continues and then we are in a mess like we are now. Poor infrastructure, low wages, government assistance helping foreign workers over local workers, debt, out of control spending, social class hatred, less opportunities ect.

Pause immigration get the house in order.

Except Trump would pause immigration then give another tax cut for the rich. He's not into helping anyone but his ilk.

It's really important to get mad when something positive is mentioned. But then make sure to cheer when Vance ignores that positive thing and changes the subject to something negative. It's the American way.
