What's new

Jefferon for Bogut?

He also has an extra year on his contract. He isn't playing good this year from what his stats say. Also his injury history.

Not sure if I would.

Injury history is a killer for me regarding a Bogut deal. When he's on the floor he's great and he'd probably love playing here and up his effectiveness even further. I would be hesitant in trying to work out a long term plan with him though.

The Jazz are going to be stuck with something that they don't want if they trade Jefferson.

I am for this trade for two reasons. First, more than likely Bogut is done for the year. With this trade it automatically gives time to Kanter and Favors. It will give the team a much better understanding of the future of those two. Second, the Jazz are one of the rare teams that can afford to take on a big man that is hurt. If Bogut goes down next year we still have Kanter, Favors and Millsap to cover those minutes.

The worst thing about this trade would be a fully healthy Bogut taking away minutes from the young guys.

I say yes.

Yikes, no thanks. The poor performance, extra year and injury problems make this a ****ing awful trade.

I'm a Utes fan, so my homerism says yes. But as others have said, the guy can't stay healthy. Plus, Kanter is our center of the future. I'd prefer to trade Big Al to someone like Atlanta that needs a big but has depth at PG and SF.

Not quite sure why we would even consider this trade. Jefferson is better than I've ever seen him on the offensive end, and he remains relatively healthy.

Bogut plays much better D than Al, but he's over the top fragile. I'd take Al every single time over Bogut.

Besides, we're going to use Al or Paul to go after a 1,2 or 3.

What is the point of trading Jefferson? Is it to get something better back that we cannot pass up or is it more of a addition by subtraction scenario. I say addition by subtraction. Getting rid of Jefferson by adding Bogut is a near perfect situation.

Yes, yes and yes. You have to take this risk. Bogut is a hard worker, good role model, and one of the better centers in the league. It gets PT for the young uns this year, a defensive big for next and when his contract is up, he might be willing to take a backup role/contract and Bogut makes Millsap expendable. You can package Millsap with the GS pick for a real wing player.

With Bogut we are set at the 4/5 for the next 5+ years. Also, it brings an alum to the team who actually has NBA talent.

I'm no Jefferson fan, but is Bogut really all that much better? When he's missing 40% of his games and not expiring in 2013, we'll all hate his *** pretty hard. The Jazz aren't winning anything this year or next. Might as well not make stupid short-sighted moves. This would be a catastrophe.

No, if we get rid of a big asset I want to see a shooter or a pass-first PG in return. We Don't need to trade a big for another big unless we're talking about D Howard.
