I’m expecting them to look at trading him around the deadline. By that time, I think a lot of teams might se him as “the missing piece” to contending with the Warriors.
The cap space could be an issue.It is reported that he's unhappy with KAT being an indifferent bum, and rumor has it he doesn't want to extend with the Wolves.
Is it possible we can grab him in 2019?
I assume he will still demand a max deal next year. For him I think it will be 30 million. I think we will be at 55 million. If we sign Exum to 10 million and extend Rubio for the same amount he made at 15(I think it will be closer to 20 but whatever) then we are at 80 million if we waive everyone else. But the cap is expected to be 109. But that is waiving everyone and not including draft picks and other stuff. I think we will be very hard pressed to pull off a 30 million offer.
I do think we might look at trading for him near the deadline or whenever he goes on the market this year.
They may not be an option for him. They might have Leonard and there are other big names free. Like Towns and Thompson.
Butler and Thompson would be my top two targets.
I'd much rather have Butler. Way more dynamic than Klay. Man, that'd be perfect.
I completely agree. But if I’m DL I see 2019 as my chance to strike big. After looking at the names those are my two targets in Oder.
I'd say so too if his run-ins weren't with people who are really weak. As I don't like Wiggins or KAT from a mentality perspective, I'd say no red flags. With that, at least.

I am. But that doesn't change the fact that Butler is to Jazz as Rock Salt is to Ice. They have some similar traits but they are not the same and don't interact well.

He's probably nearly dead from playing for Thibs.
After Kawhi, he'd be my top FA target next year. Even above Thompson. Kawhi is not coming here. I want to believe there is a chance for Butler. We may have to settle for Tobias Harris though, and I'd be fine with that. Maybe they can trade for Harris at the deadline and then we won't have to worry as much about how we can pay for a FA.
A passionate defensive minded 2 way player with some ties to Utah who wants his teammates to work hard on and off the court. Sounds like a perfect fit with Snyder and the Jazz.

Older than PG, with a ton of wear and tear. He could easily fall off the map with injuries like Rose did.
