Jimmy Butler's Day off - Jazz @ Timberbulls 10/31/2018 6 pm MST

That last possession we get a very wide open 3 from crowder who had been hot from 3 all night and it was just a little long. We get the offensive rebound and get a pretty wide open 3 from ingles who just misses (he seems off lately). We get the offensive rebound again and crowder has a look at a 3 (would have been pretty contested though) and passes to Exum who has rose running at him and rose makes a nice block on Exums attempt (god what a game from rose). Exum would have had a very wide open three if he would have pump faked and let rose fly by before taking the shot. Hard to fault him though cause time was running down and its hard to know exactly how much time you have in a pressure situation like that. He did have time for a pump fake though.
Too bad. We had some very nice looks on that last possession.

Rudy missed too many free throws. On that second to last possession when he tried his post move and left hook I agree with most people that it was a bad decision. I will say however that it was actually a nice looking move and nice looking shot and it barely missed. I do like that he had the confidence to go ahead and try to be the man and take a game winning type shot with DM sidelined. Rudy is clearly an alpha and thinks like one. I love that about him.
Oh and he was amazing again tonight despite those mistakes.
Rudy last night: 33 minutes, 22 points (9-12 from the field. 75%), 13 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal, and only 1 turnover. Oh and he was by far the highest +/- on the the team with a +13. In a game we lost by 3 a +13 is huge. He is playing like an all star consistently each game.

Saltwater taffy is the worst halloween candy btw.

Didn't read the whole thread but are we just going to act like Ingles hasn't been doing his best turnover prone version of Ricky impersonation the past few games

Every time I hear Locke say he doesn't even care about TOs I want to hurl.

Ingles has been frustrating on the TOs

Free throws killed us. In the last few minutes, Gobert missed a few, Crowder missed and I think Exum missed.

I love the "team" of this roster but blatant weaknesses of Favors and Rubio get exposed in games like this. They just aren't complete players or have an elite skill. In today's game, you either have to be a specialist or be complete.

Elan - you are right - we would probably have to add a first or take back Mahinmi to get Porter. I would do it.

Burks, Thabo, Udoh, Bradley, our 2019 1st and give them their 2021 2nd back
for
Otto Porter

Wiz get out of Porter's contract and the luxury. We get a really good player to start at SF/PF next to Joe.

Rose was absolutely amazing. Seeing him sob at the end was almost worth this loss. What a powerful, emotional moment. Their team and the fans showing him all that love was a life-affirming moment.

Stats-wise, this game was close. We were ahead in several key areas. The biggest difference was they shot 58% FG to our 49%. Rose and Towns just had excellent games. The D on Rose(especially Dante) was good, he just was unstoppable.

Favors could have been better, Rubio could have been better. Don could have been in the game at the end. And Rudy could have made a few more FT and not made that horrible post up shot. I was hoping he'd kick out to Dante for 3. Dante, Crowder, Rudy and Don had good games. Would have been nice to see Jingles drain 3's(1-6 from 3PT) and Rubio and Favors do better.

To me the best thing about last night was Dante. He was super aggressive and played excellent defense. He is a lock-down defender on anyone but Rose on one night.

We lost a road game to a team playing out of their skulls, not worried about it. Worried about Don's hammy though, we would have definitely won this game if we had him the last 5 min.

Great analysis. It really puts things into perspective. We didn't play all that well as a whole and we still only lost by 3 on the road to a team who made the playoffs last year and had a player who had a career best performance. Not terrible all things considered. Imagine what happens if we actually played well in that game.

I don't like losing. And I'm not impressed that this team doesn't seem to be clicking yet. I expected a strong start to the season. However I think some fans are overreacting a bit (as fans tend to do it's natural).

I have faith we'll be alright. We've been in worse spots. Just last season in fact. This team will bounce back.

The Jazz lost because they missed too many FTs and were unable to stop Derrick Rose. I didn't watch the game but where was DM. Why was Gobert taking shots down the stretch? This is a tough loss but not surprising since the Wolves were motivated to show they can win without Butler. I was frustrated with the turnovers. I really didn't understand why Ricky was playing down the stretch considering how he played.
