Jingles is under-rated

Here's something I keep mentioning:

Ingles had a terrible body last year. And yet he was still effective. I think he could be very, very useful if he took better care of his body. Imagine if he could get just a half second quicker. Jump just an inch or two higher. Get in a little better shape.

I think he could be as useful as Burks if he fixed his body.
Agreed. I'm hoping that the hard working attitude of Gobert, Hayward and (hopefully) Exum in transforming their bodies inspires all of the Jazz players to follow suit.

Jingles has a better than average 3 pt'er already. I think his intangibles are better than Lilsaps. I don't see Lilsap being the leader that Jingles is shaping up to be. Lilsap does have athleticism over Joe though, and he is a better defender. I don't mind keeping them both for the roll they play, but if I had to choose I keep Jingles.

I feel the same way. I think both players bring good stuff to the table but I'd give the edge to Joey, if just for that "cohesive intangible" stuff he does so well.

If Millsap develops a semi good 3pt shot he becomes better than Ingles IMO.
I disagree. I think Jingles is better in every part of the game on the offensive side. While Millsap is the better defender. I'd keep Jingles over Millsap. Millsap would have to improve, passing, shooting, dribbling and driving to the basket to catch up with Jingles on offense. Also while I think Millsap is a better defender I don't think it's by much. I think Millsap's defense is overrated on here and that he gambles and fouls too much to be considered a great defender.

We don't need offense when we have Burks/Hood/Hayward. We need a player with defensive tenacity.

like we don't have that in spades already ?? I think we need more a well rounded player who is also a playmaker, a glue guy like Jingles is invaluable. I like Milsap but he's a very limited one dimensional player.

As long as Rudy and Exum are playing significant minutes, we kinda need offense tho. Sap is fine off the bench as a situational player, but his minutes should be limited going forward.

Exum should be a better offensive player by the end of this upcoming season.

But hose three will never be on the floor together. Currently whatever bigs we play have very limited range. Exum and Burke shoot poorly from 3PT range. So that leaves whichever TWO wings are in the game at the same time as our outside threats. Of course that might change a bit after the draft and free agency.

I agree, but I still don't see a situation where Lilsap gets more than spot minutes as a defensive specialist. Burks/Hood should being taking most of his minutes this year. There just aren't enough minutes to go around with Hood/Burks being healthy, and somebody is going to be the odd man out.

Calling Jingles the superior shooter is deceptive, as Jingles's release might very well be the slowest in the NBA. Defenses have way too much time to recover when he gets the ball, which hinders his floor-spacing ability. Also one of the main reasons that his FGAs were so low despite his high shooting percentages.

He also takes a whopping .5 FTA per game despite handling the ball a decent amount.

Jingles is always looking to pass so someone else can get a better shot. I wish Trey would learn that lesson. Quin had to tell Jingles to shoot MORE. I agree he has a slow release, but he picks his spots. And as someone else pointed out, the guy is just white trash...he gets under the skin of his opponent by constantly talking ****. I love that!

Jingles is a bad dude. Love his attitude on and off the court. My son was shocked to find out tgat he was only 27. Hard living those Aussies. :)

Hope we can keep him..
