that is why we call it fake NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All people are flawed, I didn't agree with a lot of the stuff he supported but when someone dies it is best to let them rest in peace. Who am I to judge another persons life? My hope is that his family feels at peace and can find some comfort when dealing with his loss. He seems like his family loved him and in the end that is what really matters.

McCain had a reputation as a moderate - his voting record says otherwise. I think the best thing you can say about him is he didn't look to appeal to the lowest common denominator - no demands for Obama's birth certificate or chants of "lock her up". The guy had a shred of decency in the public forum.

And it's kind of sad that our standards have been systematically lowered to the point where we're celebrating a politician for this; but it is what it is.

I've read some interesting things about McCain I didn't know since he's passed. Apparently, his military career made a lot of vets upset because of nepotism and incompetence. I read the dude crashed three plans due to failing to listen to orders.

It's crazy how what's written about people after they die can be so brutal.

This is just nuts to me. Why?

Because when it comes to foreign affairs it really doesn't make a difference, there's no room for a non-interventionist policy, regardless of what party you belong to. Otherwise you'll be ostracized (see Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich) and never given a fair chance to reach out to the people.

A Paul-Kucinich ticket, now that would have made Netanyahu pull the rest of his hair out.

That's because it's a ridiculous policy stance. Non-starter.

I used to be pretty pro isolationist, but I just don't think it makes any sense given the US role in global stability since WW2. Sure, I'd prefer not to engage in any more ill advised land wars in Asia (and vote accordingly) but the idea that the US is going to step away from hegemony just isn't realistic.

I think part of the grief surrounding McCain’s death is who’s replacing him. Republicans around the nation are becoming increasingly bigoted, hateful, and extreme.

I always respected his service. Disagreed with the majority of his politics. However, I’m scared about who’s going to replace him. The republicans who are replacing Flake and McCain are going to be trashy trumpers who’ll sell out the country, civil rights, decency, to trump and Russia for a nickel.
