If true, seems shady and selfish that Hayward waited to inform the Jazz via the Player's Tribune blog and did not tell them immediately upon his decision, in order for them the time to aggressively go after other players like Otto Porter. Even Lebron told Cleveland management prior to the TV announcement. It was nice of Hayward to write a thank you letter, but that time would have been better served for the Jazz to attract free agents.
