Just Curious - Do you think Lindsey is trying to trade to #1 pick?

I would if I were Cleveland. They can fill up multiple positions with SOLID young players.

Kyrie
Waiters
Bennett
Vonleh
Favors

That's a very organised and decent young team with lots of potential at every position.

Our team though will be very thin...

Burke
Hayward
Wiggins
?????
Kanter

You make a good point/case but in the end superstars are just too valuable.
Wiggins is being talked about as a superstar possibilty.

guys like favors and vonleh (who are almost the same player) are good pieces.

Superstar is usually > good pieces

If we are giving up favors, I would rather keep the pick and send them a couple future picks. We could pick wiggins and vonleh.

Burke
Hayward
Wiggins
Vonleh
Kanter

So if last night we landed the #1, would you be tempted to deal it for a couple future picks?

It would be thin but you could put Kanter at PF and Gobert at center. Or perhaps the Jazz could buy another 1st round pick and get Payne or Gordon or Saric or you can take back Varejo (sp). I think he is on his last year of a contract. Resign Marvin is another option.

Can the Jazz draft who Cleveland wants at #5 and they draft who we want at #1 and then when free agency comes they do a sign and trade with Hayward involved + additional pics?

I'm pretty sure every GM is trying to make a trade for the first pick...here's a sample phone conversation with David Griffin (Cavs GM):

Any NBA GM: "Hi David, just calling to see if you'd be interested in trading your #1 pick?"

Cavs GM: "No. Thanks for calling."

I think that it's more likely that he's trying to trade up to #2. There's enough questions about Parker's weight and defense, Embiid's back and Exum's level of competition that teams at the top might not be fully sold on them. I can see guys like Randle, Vonleh, Smart and Gordon all making a top team fall in love with them through workouts and interviews. If that happens, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them make a deal to move back. #5 is a decent spot to still get your target if that's the case.

I reckon if Embiid falls to #5 for whatever reason, we do this deal: Embiid & Kanter & GSW '17 pick for Wiggins

For the Cavs:

Kyrie
Waiters
LeBron (when he comes over)
Kanter
Embiid

For the Jazz:

Burke
Hayward
Wiggins
????
Favors

I'd just take Embiid at 5 and work him into the lineup slowly. Let him build his strength and pray the back problems are behind him. It's worth the risk at that point, even though it's not a need.
