What's new

Just Spit balling here.

There is no way Utah trades Gobert away. Simply erase it from your minds.
He makes his teammates better offensively and defensively and is as loyal/competitive/consistent as it gets. Thanks to him Utah is a perennial playoff team even when they have 6th most cap space.

If we could swing favors and filler for AD, then to it. Otherwise, nah.

I lost a ton of respect for AD through all this. We get it, you want out. Ok that's fine. Do like any other employed person does and give your notice and do your job until you leave. But ****ing laying down on it all, saying essentially **** you to the other players, the organization, and the fans is such a bitch move it is nearly unforgivable. I would absolutely still take him on the team due to his sheer talent but I'll never be fan the same as I was before. Your true colors shine when things get tough, and his true color is baby-**** yellow.

If right trade comes along Utah should trade Rudy and would be stupid not too. Gobert is great but not a superstar leading you to a championship. If a superstar becomes available you take a risk and trade him ( see what Toronto did). Although Davis is not at Kawhi level in my opinion.

I saw JIngles tweet about wishing Brock Motum good luck in the Euro League Final 4. There are some players participating in that tourney that have passed through SLC. Tibor Pleiss is on Brock's team with Shane Larkin as the PG, Bolomboy is playing for CSKA Moscow with Jeff Withey and Nate Wolters in the tourney. The point of this is the Jazz can let Favors, Bricky and virtually everyone else walk if they get the third star piece whoever that may be. There is enough talent walking the planet to make the Jazz uber competitive with three stars. Need point guards they are there. Need bigs they are there. Need wings they are there.

AD is a snivelling ***** who crawls into a ball when the going gets tough Quit on his teammates with 2 years of a contract remaining. He's a no heart quitter who isn't anywhere near worth the trouble

Little bit less sugar coating please.

Just finish your post with “Utah is not trading Gobert away”

We would need Conley, Mitchell, Ingles, AD, and Favors to be our starting lineup to have any chance at winning a championship. But would even that be enough to beat a Warriors team that keeps everyone? Unlikely.

Your star point guards were Erick Green (already once a Jazzman) and Shane Larkin 31 points 7 dimes. Motum 9 points 4 boards in 13 minutes. Bolomboy did not score for CSKA. CSKA vs Motum and Pleiss' Turkish team for the Euro championship.

It'd be stupid to turn down an offer of a tier1 player but this won't ever happen. Gobert is a top15 in the league impact-wise but he's somewhat undervalued. Leonard trade is an exception. They don't exhange tier1 players with tier3 normally. Pop didn't want a rebuild when they should have. Besides a one year rental is not a particularly good idea for Utah.

I think it would move the needle. But then AD leaves for LA and the Jazz traded Gobert for a 1 year rental and our core is now Mitchell and a 32 year old Conley.

It’s way to risky imo. If the Jazz were able to land FAs like LA or Boston I might be more inclined.

Oh God, that sounds like something DL would be all over. Hopefully he doesn't tell Justin Zanik to make the move. lol

Shane Larkin killed it. As an European I've never seen such a dominant performance in Euroleague final-fours. Perhaps DL should have a look at him. He certainly looks better than Utah's third stringers and AFAIK he was pretty good for BOS last season. Not sure how he ended up in Euroleague.
