White House goes into damage control mode after reports of dysfunction in Kamala Harris' office

(CNN)The White House dove into damage control this week after reports of dysfunction and infighting in Vice President Kamala Harris' office, with the administration trying to stop a drama-filled narrative from taking hold, according to five people who spoke to CNN about the dynamics within Harris' office.

Two people close to Harris' team said some individuals inside the vice president's office are frustrated with what they see as a dysfunctional operation that has been at times waylaid by internal conflict. Some of that ire is directed squarely at Harris' chief of staff, Tina Flournoy, those people said. Another source close to the staff said there were "challenges and struggles" and heard complaints about Flournoy from staff, but denied it amounted to dysfunction or that the tensions were directly Flournoy's fault.

Pre-emptive thread before certain posters say we're ignoring this or that certain news sources aren't talking about it.

We're not and they're not.

So, I'm rooting for Harris. I liked her more than Biden the entire time. I hope that her service as VP goes well and propels her to bigger and better things, possibly including becoming the first woman to be POTUS. My opinion of her is not set in stone. It can certainly change.

There are questions about where this drama is coming from and why. It is being called a whisper campaign simply to paint her office as dysfunctional.

So here it is. I'm bringing this up. I'm not ignoring this and CNN is not ignoring this.

There are questions about where this drama is coming from and why.

If I had to make a guess, and this is nothing but a cui bono guess with no evidentiary backing, this is Gavin Newsom’s people laying 2024 groundwork.

No one appears to be taking credit for being behind this which means it likely isn’t the product of a short-sighted narcissist like Trump or Andrew Cuomo. Hillary’s machine is more than capable but I get the feeling she’s done. If it were a second tier candidate, they’d be appearing everywhere just to get some name recognition and we aren’t seeing that at all. It could be Ron DeSantis but his shots appear to be aimed higher up and as a member of the opposition party he'd have nothing to lose by being public about backing this move.

I’m thinking it is Gavin. Being seen attacking a fellow democrat who also happens to be a female person of color isn’t a good look. Not taking credit would be politically shrewd if this is Gavin’s crew. His political machine is every bit as capable as Hillary’s. He’s got both Silicon Valley tech giant money and Nancy Pelosi’s political network backing him. Gavin has the ability and the motive.

I'm rooting for Harris.

Pretty hard to know a family feud arising say with Pelosi and a close relative. A lot of conservatives lump whatshername Jobs as Kamala's main backer, with perhaps some Brown nosers as well, but really this is one big "family".

I think it's nothing more than the Diva crapping on her own base. Because she can, and doesn't really care not to.

If there's a political angle it's gotta be Bernie's people in her ranks. or An Occasional Cortex worker bee.

Politics often can be analyzed by "Follow the Money" information, but it is imo always something deeper. "Follow the Money" reduces the issues to something there is no cure for, something every political party/movement is gonna wallow in, so it doesn't really make any difference, and is worse than saying "There's nothing we can do" about our government.

Trying to interpret it all in moral terms, like the various themes about sex scandals or payola, is only another kind of ":Follow the Money": issue. Whether it's an Epstein isle or a SE Asia luxury dive, or a little "Bohemian Grove" near Santa Rosa CA, is is useless because of course people who want power love the immunity from public opinion and thrive on the Establishment /Arrogance of Power sort of "privilege". Actually, anyone trying to discuss" white privilege": has gotta be a stooge just ignoring "political privilege" that subjugates everyone.

The only way to improve our situation is to reduce government, reduce the power of government, make government accountable to the people. The US Constitution was the best we've ever done towards that aim, and the real answer to to do it better, and make actual human rights, limited government, and independent education the ideals we sup0port.
