Kamala Harris for Pres

Contrary to Trump’s false claim, Congress approves FEMA’s budget, the agency has been on the ground in the areas impacted by the storm since it made landfall last week and is not close to being out of money to help aid victims. The agency says it has more than 1,000 staff members currently deployed and that it is “coordinating a federal force of over 4,800 personnel” in the recovery effort.

“FEMA has what it needs for immediate response and recovery efforts,” FEMA spokesperson Jaclyn Rothenberg said in a statement posted to X on Thursday.

But social media rumors supercharged by a political campaign and a devastating natural disaster have spread quickly and have targeted other aid organizations as well.

“Misinformation can spread quickly after a disaster, causing confusion and distrust within communities struggling to recover,” the American Red Cross wrote in a Thursday post on X. “Unfortunately, we’re seeing this during our response to Hurricane Helene.”

Why don't you post the link to the article or source instead of pretending you are writing this?

Why don't you post the link to the article or source instead of pretending you are writing this?
I usually do. Why do you care? Like you would actually click on the link and read the article lol. Also, why would you think that im pretending to write this? Do you not see the quotation marks? Cant you see the underlined parts of the post such as American Red Cross wrote in a Thursday post, and a statement posted to X, and The agency says

Click on any of those groups of words and you will be directed to an article about that thing. I dont know how to do that silly.

You are pretty dumb if you think im trying to pretend that I wrote that post. You aren't dumb are you?

Misinformation can spread quickly after a disaster, causing confusion and distrust within communities struggling to recover. Unfortunately, we’re seeing this during our response to Hurricane Helene.

Sharing rumors online without first vetting the source and verifying facts ultimately hurts people — people who have just lost their homes, neighborhoods, and, in some cases, loved ones. They are already unsure where to turn for help, and spreading misinformation only adds to that uncertainty. It also disrupts our ability to deliver critical aid and affects the disaster workers who have put their own lives on hold to assist those in need. Here are a few common rumors we have recently seen on social media that we'd like to address:-

"The Red Cross isn’t here."This is simply not true. Before Helene made landfall, we prepositioned hundreds of Red Cross disaster responders and thousands of relief supplies across the Southeast to support people affected in the aftermath. Today, more than 1,300 disaster responders are helping people in Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee and Virginia, ensuring they have safe shelter, food, hygiene items, medication and emotional support.

"The Red Cross is confiscating or throwing out donated items."We are not confiscating, removing or discarding donated items. We focus on providing shelter, food, and relief after disasters. While we don't accept physical donations, as managing them takes time and resources away from our mission, we work with community partners who are better equipped with these resources to handle and distribute these items. For information on where donated goods are available, please call 211.

"The Red Cross is taking over shelters."We do not forcefully take over shelters. However, we do provide management support at the request of partners. This is a collaborative effort that no one organization can do alone. Local partnerships are established before disasters to ensure shelter needs are met, and we collaborate with partners to transition evacuation centers into post-storm shelters. We do not take over facilities where partners are still providing services.

"The Red Cross is taking over volunteer groups."This is untrue. While we are working alongside other volunteer groups helping during this disaster, the Red Cross is not taking over their efforts or services.

For safety, all Red Cross volunteers must go through a background check and Red Cross training before deploying to support a disaster response. We do not manage or deploy volunteers who haven’t completed this process, including local residents who sign up after a disaster. They must undergo the same screening and training as current volunteers.

As we get closer to election day we are going to see more and more lies spread. Things like immigrants eating cats and dogs, and the immigrants in Springfield are there illegally, and Jack Smith is committing election interference, and Harris and Biden aren't trying to aid the victims of the hurricane, and the democrats made the hurricane and targeted it to hit republicans, and Biden wont let me provide internet to victims, and Democrats support killing babies after they are born. The lies are going to be coming on a daily basis now as we get close to the election. This is how trump will attempt to win. With lies. His immorality, dishonesty, and corruption knows no bounds and as we get closer to the election he is getting more and more desperate.

Yep, at this point I am pretty convinced that Kamala is responsible for the economic crash in 2008, failure to prevent 9/11, the Iran-Contra affair, takes all the extra socks everyone is missing in the drier and was the one on the grassy knoll. I am sure I missed a few things there in between too, but she is probably responsible for all of those too.
Kamala caused Boozer’s injury and AK47 to be a lazy ***. She also made Rudy and Mitchell hate each other. Also she invented Covid with fauci. Damn deep state

It hurts my soul how stupid the replies are to that Red Cross post.

Early voting has begun already. What is the over under on how long until trump starts talking about the fraud taking place in this election?

Fema funds were not spent on migrants. You are being lied to again.

What mayorkas said is:
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas gave a news conference and said that while the agency had sufficient funds to deal with recovery efforts for victims of Hurricane Helene, it could run out of money if another major hurricane hit the U.S. this year.
“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have. We are expecting another hurricane hitting,” Mayorkas said. “FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season.”

FEMA receives its funding through the Department of Homeland Security, and Congress recently passed a spending bill that gave FEMA $20 billion for disaster relief.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) launched a “rumor response” page on its website Thursday to try to counter what it calls “false” accusations that it has diverted disaster relief funds to house migrants to the U.S.
“This is false. No money is being diverted from disaster response needs. FEMA’s disaster response efforts and individual assistance is funded through the Disaster Relief Fund, which is a dedicated fund for disaster efforts,” the agency says on its website. “Disaster Relief Fund money has not been diverted to other, non-disaster related efforts.”

This is a good example of why it would be important to include sources and links to information you pretend to write on this board. I’m sure people would like to know where you are copying your quotes and information.

That post was all me. And it's obviously to someone who isn't an idiot. The fact you can't tell when Im writing something or copying and pasting something from an article only shows your lack of intelligence.
Poor fella

Seriously though. Like 90% of my posts that use writing that isn't mine have links in them.
I provide lots of links. Maybe you don't know how to use a link?

Cool. Ya I was agreeing with your post that people should watch out for misinformation which is why it’s a good idea to let people know when you are copying something from somebody. I wasn’t saying that your particular post was copied. I can tell when it is and when it isn’t, which is why I’ve asked for the source in other posts. Ya I just think it’s important to cite sources. It’s not necessarily for my benefit although I appreciate it. It’s pretty much for everyone as good practice and courtesy. It just seems like the honest thing to do. Giving credit where it is due is something most people would appreciate and find respectful. That’s great if you feel like you’re 90% there. Anyway, ya I can use links. I appreciate and notice when they are and aren’t available.

For when he starts? 3 1/2 years ago.
Has he ever stopped? If memory serves, he was bitching about it being rigged in 2016 against that email lady. Hahahahahaha remember that? Remember when we thought she was corrupt? Remember when getting a blowie from an intern was like The worst thing a president could do? Haha what a quaint presidency we once had. Now we’ve got a guy who daily says/does stuff that’s utterly insane and corrupt.

One of the worst scandals in American history? How about we start with one of the most destructive storms in American history? And while we’re at it, why not point out we have been told for a long time now that man made global warming would mean a much warmer Gulf of Mexico, and much larger hurricanes as a result, sucking up much more water from the Gulf, and dumping much worse flooding rains.

And while we were being reminded, jackasses like Matt Walsh and conservatives and their oil company supporters were reminded us that “hey, they’re lying, there is no man made warming, pay no attention!”

Now that we have a good idea at how quickly and deadly these hurricane can develop in the hot waters of the Gulf, the same Americans who deny human caused warming now make up stories about how the Democrats are failing Americans now that the exact type of storm the oil industry and the MAGA morons told us was just not going to happen, has happened. This is what happens with storms in the Gulf, as a result of human actions.

I knew that in the face of widespread destruction seldom ever seen from a hurricane, the very same people who laughed their butts off at the possibility of such storms are now asking “why cannot Joe and Kamala fix this in a week or less? What’s holding things up?!” You’re not fooling anybody, Matt Walsh and the MAGA brigade. You’ve had your head stuck up your ***

You need to correct this position, now that the proof in the pudding has arrived: man made global warming made Helene far worse:

IMG_5026.png

CLAIM: Chimney Rock residents were told their land “was being seized by the federal government.”

CLAIM: “Joe Biden told the people of North Carolina they had no more supplies for us.”

CLAIM: Moore, North Carolina’s House speaker, was “preventing” an out-of-state helicopter “from even going in and (was) trying to kick us out.”

CLAIM: One thousand troops authorized to respond in North Carolina are “sitting around twiddling their thumbs” because Cooper hasn’t “written up the mission orders that the troops need in order to be deployed.”

CLAIM: “When Hurricane Helene was on its way to North Carolina, Gov. Cooper was too busy hobnobbing with rich folks in New York to care about preparing for the storm.”

Imagine our nation experiencing a hurricane as incredibly destructive as Helene, across 6 states, isolating thousands, cutting them off, hundreds possibly still missing, incredible amounts of rain dumped, and now consider: the very same people who howled and laughed and insisted man made global warming was a HOAX, and now those people, having seen what a Cat 4 hurricane in the Gulf waters made warmer by the causes they ridiculed as a “HOAX” can do, those SAME people are apparently demanding to know: “why isn’t this massive disaster fixed by now?! It’s been over a week!”

That’s how stupid these people are. These clowns would adopt the same attitude if an asteroid 10 miles wide slammed into the United States. “Where’s Joe?! Where’s Kamala?! There’s a crater 100 feet deep and a mile wide where Chicago was yesterday! Do something!”

Over a billion dollars of fema funds spent on migrants and now there isn't enough money according to mayorkas to get through the season.

In addition to migrant and disaster relief being different funds, we should all understand, it was the Far Right Republicans who removed additional funding for FEMA from the stopgap budget. The extra money was removed just as Congress adjourned days before Helene arrived. Blame conservative Republicans for “there isn’t enough money”….

I’ve removed the paywall on this Washington Post article. Yourself and others complaining about the FEMA fund that assists migrants should at least recognize and acknowledge that the fund was created by Donald Trump, in 2019. Therefore, shouldn’t you complain to Trump? Instead of spreading lies initiated by Trump?

Trump created the FEMA migrant fund.

Conservatives in the house removed extra funding for FEMA two days before Helene hit.

It’s dumb for MAGA to insist the situation in North Carolina and elsewhere be fixed overnight. But I knew they would, all while being the same people who called global warming a hoax.
