Yes, then it depends on, and we will see, just how deep his cult goes and how strong those loyalties are. All it takes is some national guard leader or a general or 2 to generate some real resistance and the American Civil War part 2 is on.

Going to be a challenge for Trumptards to insurrect with Biden/Harris holding the keys to the military. Localized rioting is pretty much a given I think. Because rioting for civil rights is bad but rioting for The Rapist is good. Then Republican governors will have to put down those riots. Could be a complete and total implosion of the Republican party.

I reckon @str8line is closer to the money, you might get some rioting, some shootings maybe a far right terror act or two but I think its unlikely that the military get involved.

Yeah but what is ridiculous beyond belief, and terrifying, is that you simply cannot entirely rule all military involvement out.
 
The anxiety I had one month ago is fading quickly. As long as Kamala acts like a moderate and stays away from any Howard Dean shriek-type moments The Rapist is going down in flames.

Ya the great thing for whoever the Democratic nominee is, is that you can mostly sit back and let trump do his thing. Biden won by staying in the basement and keeping his head down and letting trump do all the work.

I mean the Democrat still needs to, and still should, try to present their plans for the future. But trump out there douching it up is really really nice for the Democratic candidate.

Oh its completely nuts, I have the luxury of living on the other side of the world so Im not super concerned. I don't think the military get involved in creating a Trump dictatorship to be honest, if anything I would think their only role would be in restoring order and putting down an insurrection. And the thing to think about is why would a general seize power and then hand it over to Trump? The more likely scenario is they seize power for themselves then murder Trump. I don't see this happening, even in the most unlikely of scenarios.

They seize power and hand it to Trump because he already has the backing of half the country, the general does not. A coup of that kind would result in a presidency like Putin's and the general who facilitated would likely be who took over when Trump died, even if under strange circumstances.

Don't get me wrong, I highly doubt anything like this would happen, so unlikely as to be nigh impossible. Yet not completely, and that is the terrifying part. It cannot be ruled out, hence it remains a threat, albeit highly unlikely.
