Kamala Harris for Pres

I'm terrified that she blows it in the debate and we end up with dictator Trump going full-tilt. It's so obvious she can't think on her feet. And that's why I thought there was plenty of time for a condensed primary to let the public decide. Whose decision was it to put Kamala in this position? We know it wasn't the Obama's since they held off on supporting her. Was it Pelosi?

That is the question that needs to be answered.

LOL. No.

My best guess is Jeff Zients, Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti, Anita Dunn, Bruce Reed, and Jennifer O'Malley Dillon working in concert. They are reportedly the ones running the show right now. Putting Kamala in this position was their only shot at holding on to power. If the DNC nomination had gone to a mini primary, the extremely formidable Gavin Newsom would have destroyed off-putting dumb-dumb Kamala in a week, and Gavin would have dumped all of them. Their only shot was to keep old Joe in as long as possible, then swap him out for someone who was similarly unable to run the country, with little enough time that it wasn't possible for Kamala to be challenged by another, more talented democrat.

Never heard of those people and I doubt they have the clout. Gavin Newsom is a huge lightning rod, which is why he wasn't chosen. Yes, he would annihilate Kamala in a debate but whoever chose Kamala thought she'd have a better chance at beating The Rapist.

They have the clout. They are running the country right now, but I'm not surprised you don't know who they are. They don't give interviews and only two of them even have social media accounts.

Jeff Zients is currently serving as Joe Biden's White House Chief of Staff.

I'm not sure of Mike Donilon's official title but he was the chief strategist during Biden's successful 2020 campaign and he rejoined the administration a couple months ago.

Steve Ricchetti is currently serving as Counselor to the President. He is a super lobbyist who specializes in constructing non-profit entities through which corporate interests can quietly funnel money to candidates.

I could be wrong about Anita Dunn. She has been in charge of Communication Strategy, but it looks like she's recently left the White House and it wasn't to join Harris. I think she's out. As a side note, she was one of the two who had social media accounts.

Bruce Reed is White House Deputy Chief of Staff. He is the policy wonk. He comes up with the ideas that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris fail to talk coherently about.

Jen O'Malley Dillon was Deputy Chief of Staff for Biden, and then she left to become campaign manager for Joe Biden's 2024 reelection campaign until he withdrew and now Jen O'Malley Dillon is running the Harris campaign.

It would be sexier and more fun to say it was Hillary Clinton working with Barack Obama, but it is really the above listed people, except for Anita Dunn, pulling the strings.

So they convinced the Biden's that Kamala was the best choice? Because I really doubt they made the decision. I still think that besides the Biden's Pelosi had the most clout. Maybe Schumer too?

Schumer had no part to play. Pelosi has a ton of clout, and definitely wanted Joe Biden out, but her deep pocket backers are the same deep pocket backers pushing Gavin Newsom. I believe Pelosi thought she was creating the opening to get Newsom into the White House and got outplayed by Zients’ crew.

Some of her more recent comments seem to support that.

“Many of us who were concerned about the election wanted to have an open process. It was an open process, anyone could have gotten in. [Harris] had the endorsement of the president, and she, politically astutely, took advantage of it and shut down — not shut down, but won the nomination.”

Also, Kamala could directly use the $$ that the Biden campaign had built up, because it was for the Biden/Harris campaign. If it were anyone else, the money would have had to go to the DNC or a Super PAC.

Joe Biden himself said it was his decision to step down and his decision to have Kamala take his place.

This part is pretty huge.
Now, would it be crazy to think that maybe that was the plan all along, to have Biden step away from his campaign when it was too late to choose anyone else? Assuming Machiavellian levels of plotting from career politicians is kind of a no-brainer, but there is no evidence that I am aware of, other than circumstantial, that this is the case.
