Show him the last game Al scored 23 pts and how many shots he took.
Show him last night's game where Kanter took 12 shots to get 23 pts. Then explain how that means there are a lot more shots to go around, a lot more offensive possessions to be had, and a lot more points to be scored when Kanter is on the floor vs Al. And that doesn't even take defense into account.
There is more to basketball than a box score.
I LOLed when I read the first part of your post, because I can't even count how many times I've shown Al's box scores to him, and he just dismisses them and that arguement.
