Kanter va Biyambo

I know many were in the unknown aged Biyombos stuff and wanted him in a Jazz uniform. I was on the DWill2 personally but knew that wasn't going to happen so was fine with Kanter.

Watching Biyombo now for really the first time and just wanted to know what people saw in him. I just don't see him being anything outside of blocking a few shots in this league.

Kanter on the other hand has been surprising and PKM was pretty spot on with his review process.

Anyone still rather have Biyombo?

His best case prediction was Ben Wallace from draftexpress.

Pretty sure teams weren't exactly expecting offensive power houses Shaq or Duncan with this kid...

Blocking a few shots, getting a few boards, and eating a few lob passes was exactly why he was drafted.

So with the 3rd pick people were wanting best case Ben Wallace?

Huh?

I was referring to Biyombo.

Don't you feel stupid.

Kanter has always been a superior prospect IMO. Although he might never jump like Biyombo, his strength, basketball IQ, etc make him much better than Biyombo.

.......... Many wanted Biyombo at #3 and my point is why? If he was being compared best case as a Wallace.

I can't remember anyone on this board who wanted Biyombo at #3.... Most people on this board were on the Kanter bandwagon. Either that or Knight's...

And I don't remember any mocks selecting him before #5.... or even #10 for that matter. Weren't there huge concerns over his real age anyway?

Biombo was one of those huge risks.... I'm glad we didn't take him with our top lotto pick.

Ben Wallace is one the leagues best ever defender, rebounder, and shot blocker. Any problems with that?

Who would want that?

I think Numberica was a big promoter of Biyombo at some point. I, for the most part, preferred Biyombo over Kanter.

He was? What for 1 or 2 years? Then once off the Pistons he was one of the most over paid players in the league.

Wrong. For starters, he has won DPY 4 times, has 7 years averaging double figures in rebounds including one season he averaged 15 RPG, and has always, save one year, averaged more than a blocker per game. Amazing career and over achiever.

I have only watched Biyombo play a little but he passes the eye test. He was able to stay in front of and challenge Bosh's shots. He has also shown more of an offensive game than Wallace ever had. However he as good at hedging switching out on guards. He still has a chance to be a better player than Kanter.
