No, no, no.
First offensive option in Utah? Oh what? First of all he had many shots because many of them were putbacks. It is not like Gordon and Favors took the same amount of shots like Kanter. Half of Kanter's were from rebounding. 45% just right athe the rim described it perfectly. So half of his shots from there.
And the only "runs" for Kanter were these jumpers he had to take. Gordon balled for 10 seconds and gave Kanter a la "do it on your own". And they forced Kanter so many times to take bad shots because he was mostly the last option. So when they didn't know what to do, they forced Kanter to take a bad jumper from the midrange.
And this is why he was so selfish and why he was not passing at all. I admit that he was selfish and was not passing. But only those time (low post for an up and under, skyhook, etc) where he he could make a play for himself. So when he was double teamed, he didn't care much. He tried to make a shot because that was his chance to score. Or the putbacks occasionally, but no runs for him. How many times did you see him dunking? Yes, he is not very good vertically but still he can dunk. How many dunks do you remember made by him? 1 or 2 if any. People didn't feed him.
The difference in OKC is now, that he doesn't have this feeling of "I need to score, I need to score". And that he doesn't feel like he is ignored (besides Westbrook, who ignores everyone).
No, I don't think that he is used more in OKC. I think they should feed him more.
