True, but there needs to be ammo to still do a deal. The best I think the Jazz could realistically do would be role players, expiring deals, and picks. Mitchell and Gobert are flat untouchable unless the peasants riot. The Spurs basically could get a better deal from a star power deprived team with young talent and higher projected picks. Wouldn't hurt to check, but I don't logically see the Jazz getting a deal for Kawhi done without trading Rudy or Donovan, and those are non starters for us.

There is speculation that it may be a degenerative condition... would make sense to hold himself out until signing his next deal if that is the case. Doesn’t want to get IT’d.

If the Spurs trade Kawhi I don't think an older established player like Hayward would be on their radar. I think that they would want to go full rebuild. I think that they would want young players, picks and big contracts that expire in 1 or 2 years to shed salary. Because with Kawhi gone they don't have much else to build around. Pau, Manu and Tony are all nearing retirement. Pop has talked retirement before. Aldridge is a solid player but he's not going to carry them to a championship. And he's not getting younger either. I think that they would burn it down and go full rebuild.

Kawhi is a California guy and the Lakers are looking for a top free agent. I don't know how it's going to happen, but I would guess that the Spurs are going to deal Kawhi to the Lakers in a multi-team trade.
Why is it, when other players do what Kawhi is doing, we would never hear the end of it. Because it is Kawhi, there are actually people supporting his decision? He is completely healthy and refuses to help his team in the 1st round of the playoffs. Does this not seem wrong to anyone else???

Hayward getting traded after a lost season after leaving the Jazz would be ****ing hilarious.

My secret wish is for Boston to include Hayward in a trade for Anthony Davis. Then have New Orleans resign Boogie.

I would absolutely love to see Hayward stuck with Boogie. (It's not going to happen, but it's fun to think about.)

Wouldn’t need to be multi team... Ingram, picks, cap fodder for Kawhi. Maybe they sneak Kuzma too.
