What's new

Keep, Trade, or cut? (Re-sign if you will)

All I'm gonna say is that I want to keep Kessler and Sexton the most and want Clarkson gone the most.
Edit: I also still want to keep Hendricks. I have faith

FWIW..

Markkanen (4 years @ 46.4 mil) - Did nothing for me this year... maybe wasn't supposed to? Can't get a bucket on his own. Not a franchise level / that high a salary player. 46 mil / for a good 3 point shooter? Iffy D.
Kessler (1 year left on rookie contract @ 4.9 mil) - Love Kessler. Give him Laurie's $$.
Sexton (1 year @ 19.2 mil) - Sexton is definitely a keeper. Love his infectious effort.
Clarkson (1 year @ 14.3 mil) - trade if possible
George (2 years left rookie contract @ 4.3 mil) - keep, but to me he's the fifth best guard on the roster. Sexton, Collier, Brice, and JC are better.
Filipowski (basically 3 years @ 3 mil) - Love, love, love him.
Collier (3 years left on his rookie contract @ 2.6 mil) - Love, love, love him. Please work on your jumper this summer!
Sensabaugh (2 years left on rookie contract @ 2.7 mil) - Love, love, love him. Please work on your first step this summer!
Collins (PO for next year @ 26.6 mil) - Warrior. Keep over Markkanen.
Myhailiuk (3 years nonguaranteed @ 3.7 mil) - Next year tank? Keep the commander. No? Cut.
Juzang (3 years nonguaranteed @ 2.8 mil) - Cut. Always seems lost. His D picked up towards the end, but no handle, no court awareness, 37% 3.
Williams (3 years rookie contract @ 5.7 mil) - See response for Svi. :smh
Martin (1 year nonguaranteed @ 8 mil) - Keep. Indifferent.
Hendricks (2 years rookie contract @ 6.1 mil) - Gets an "incomplete" this year. Didn't impress much his rookie year.
Springer (2 years nonguaranteed @ 2.4 mil) - cut
Harkless (2 way) - Cut
Potter (2 way) - Love his effort. Good 3 point shooter. Great end of the bench guy
Tshiebwa (2 way) - Love his effort. Good rebounder. Great end of the bench guy
First round pick top 5 - Keep duh
Gabriele Procida - Buh?!

I honestly don't know Ainge's plan is if he even has one. The returning players tanked us to the worst record in the league. Does Ainge want to do it again or is he going to try and win games and if so how hard is he going to try?

I think he’s going to tank. Maybe not as hard as this past year, but hard enough to keep the pick from OKC.

Seems pretty clear from Ryan’s comments and how hungry Danny has been to keep the Favors pick, we will very likely be tanking again next year. Flagg might change that.

Giving up on Lauri is silly. Look, we wanted him to have a bad year. We hoped he would have a bad year. Who knows, perhaps Hardy intentionally put him in bad spots.

Lauri will be fine when we aren't tanking. Period. His salary is very high. But don't confuse a year off with an off year.

Ehh. He has been off physically. It’s pretty obvious.

As far as trades it's all about the value we could receive. But I really want to keep Kessler, Flip, Collier.... If Sexton wanted to sign another contract with us I gladly would if the price was fair. I like Collins also but I think someone is willing to pay him more than they should. Everyone else - it ranges between I would trade if the offer leaned toward us (JC) to give us an offer we cannot refuse (Lauri).

how could we decide any of this when the team played the year in a way specifically designed to tank the season? who was really injured? who was really playing at their best? i heard rumors that players were told to try new play styles to 'expand their games' (meaning do new things which would take time to learn and cause them to suck eggs) i can't make appraisals when the data is flawed. (side note, i liked springer, but he short, and we have a lot of short)
