With how well George Hill has started how much would it take to sign him?

Good question. Assuming the All-Stars (Curry, Paul and Lowry) stay put, I think you could make a case for Hill as the top point guard on the market ahead of Jrue Holiday and Jeff Teague. In that case, I think you could see one of the PG-needy teams in free agency (maybe CHI, DAL, NYK, PHI, SAC or a team that's not satisfied with its current option) throw $20 million a year his direction.
.

The only team I'm worried about is San Antonio. I'd use our cap space this year to renegotiate and extend him if he'd do it. We could give him something that equates to 3/60 that doesn't mess things up for us financially.

Look at the difference in our team when he's on the floor.

Pay him.

bye bye Burks and Diaw.

Conley got 5/150... hill 4/80 seems cheap.

I think they will get rid of Joe Johnson before Burks.

If hill is retained Burks is likely gone... would need to get his contract off the books for 2018, but they could move Joe next year then move Burks the following year I guess.

It's better to make that decision later for a number of reasons.

Burks value will likely increase after his return.
Hayward could leave. We would look foolish for counting our chickens before they hatched.
Something could happen to one of our young players before 2018.

If he's looking for that kind of money, he needs to lead the Jazz pass the 2nd round of the playoffs then we'll talk extension or whatever that's suppose to happen. lol

ye Hill's contract should be eligible for restructuring. The cool thing is that his salary can be reduced by up to 40% next season that way(the extension part of restructuring)
The reason Hill might wanna wait is that under the current CBA he could get an extra year by waiting until next summer.
The tricky factor is that if Hill switches teams, the new team doesn't have bird rights and thus he doesn't get a 5th year.
So if he wants to get the 5th year, he has to stay. If he wants to stay there's still a case to be made to restructure now as the bump in salary for this season could be as high as 13 million
