If you want to focus on Keyonte's defense all day long- go for it. Be a pit bull with your jaws locked on a bone... but I am focused on the positives and they are elite.
Keyonte is 19th in the league in scoring, and of the 18 ahead of him on the list are at least 2 years older than him. About half were far behind Keyonte's progress in their 3rd years. Only 3 were significantly better in their 3rd years: Luca, Wemby, and Durant. Keyonte at this point compares very favorably to the 3rd year stats of: Shai, Ant, Booker, Steph, Cade C, Donovan...
Look at the stats- and tell me I am wrong. Of course those stats don't tell the whole story of defense. If he wants to rise to the level of a top two player on a championship team- he will have to improve on defense.
But he clearly worked his *** off over the summer- and was very coachable after being sent to the bench last year. So I have no doubt he will increase his effort and focus on defense throughout his career.
