Keyonte George’s Star Ascension

I think people are getting too caught up in the tank discussion and aren’t fully appreciating/witnessing the star ascension of Keyonte George that is currently happening.

We have a 22-year old guard who is averaging 22.9 PPG, 6.8 APG, 4 RPG on 44.4/34.2/91.1 shooting splits. Including 59.7 TS%.

This needs to be talked about more. Let’s use this thread to discuss Keyonte’s massive third year leap.

Key is in top 24 in scoring and getting better
Is he worthy of all star consideration? Maybe
Has any lottery type team had two all stars? Maybe?

I dont think he's in all-star discussion because of record at this point. Lauri would still be the choice for all-star on the team, but next year if he can repeat this season but the Jazz have a winning record, he's in the discussion.

Keyonte is now at 38% on catch and shoot 3's, 26% on off the dribble. He was a 33% and 35% his first two seasons, so the off the dribble shooting should come around at some point.

He’s over 40% from 3 in December. Shooting #’s continue to rise.

He’s a bucket, we knew this. Just a knack for scoring the ball and getting his shot off.

Efficiency will be the question. But he’s showing clear signs of turning into a 25-30 ppg guy.

I’m giving up on the tank, personally. We won’t be “good” but Lauri + Key are probably too good for us to finish bottom 5. We don’t have enough garbage minutes in our rotation unless we go fully shameless.

His efficiency wasn’t great to start the year for sure but since then he’s been on an absolute tear.

His last 16 games he’s shooting 45.5% from the field, 37.6% from three, 60 TS% while averaging 23.1 PPG.

Having our potenial worse case scenario being a rebuild around Key, Ace, Lauri, and Kessler, doesn't seem that bad.

I think our worst case is losing our pick and having Walker refuse to come back and play for us and leave in a sign and trade in free agency but I agree I think we are in a good spot
