He's the 8th or 9th man on a contender, if he's a good pro with a decent attitude.
He'll never make a shot the matters in his career, I'm hoping the shots he misses will matter more in the long run for the franchise than the shots he makes.

After last night's game Keyonte is shooting 35% from 3 on "tight" contest. That's really high and just around what elite off the dribble shooters make on tight 3's.
I'd agree that he's probably a 6th man....but I don't see what is so bad about that. He was the 16th pick in the draft and is still probably my best bet out of the 6 recent draftees to have a sizable role on a real team. He didn't turn out to be Lisan Al Ghaib, but that was still a very quality pick.

Key averages 17 and 6 in his second season in the league as a one and done. Fish is right, for Key it's all about efficiency. 40/35 (54% TS) shooting splits aren't going to get it done. that's where he needs to made dramatic improvements - which he didn't do (only slight improvement) in year two. 6 assists per game is a very good number for any volume scorer, especially one as young as Key in just his second season. the scoring ability with the playmaking is a really great base for optimism, but he's never shown the ability to be efficient. efficient scoring is the elephant in the room.

Do you have a list of 21 year old high efficiency volume scorers playing on a trash team? I can't imagine it is very long. Look how much better the Hoston and Detroit youngsters look now that their teams decided to start playing real basketball.
It seems pretty obvious to me that Key can be a very good player if given a proper role with a proper team build. His defense will decide if he is a starter or bench spark.
Making final declarations about Key is way premature. He didnt take a leap in his second year, that much we know. Doesnt mean he will never take one.
Imo if he improves his shootingva bit his floor is a shorter Jordan Clarkson with less craftiness but better passing and straight line ability. His ceiling may still be higher.
