Key's Pouting

I gotta be honest, when I’m projecting how to build the Jazz into a championship team, I unintentionally never consider Keyonte a part of that team. I don’t know how an undersized chucker that doesn’t play defense and has 0 intangibles fits into a team like that.

Trade Key and the acquired 1st(s) this year to move up. **** him. Dude’s an inefficient chucker. This will be Flagg’s team and no way would he be cool with that. Get Flagg, another higher 1st by moving up. That pick, Collier and Flagg. Build around them. Everyone else is on the table.
Ain't no GM so stupid as to trade Flagg for Keyonte, let's say the #4 pick and some bad other picks.

I dont see any reason to trade Keyonte. You'd be selling low. The Jazz shouldnt be in hurry to move off project if they show any kind of promise, and Keyonte shows promise.
Yep. No reason to sell low on the kid unless you fall in love with a player in the draft and he is the piece to make it happen. One conversation I would try to have is with the rockets for Whitmore. They probably say no but I'm definitely asking.

If the Jazz keep acquiring guards, then the guard rotation will get logjammed and they run the risk of just burying Keyonte and getting nothing for him when the time comes to move on. There’s a reason to “sell low.”

Even with his significant flaws, Keyonte has a 0 OBPM and averages 16.6 on 13.5 shots per game. Not great efficiency, but for a guy who shoots 39/34 splits, it's pretty good.

He just has to start making improvement in his consistency next year. He's a pretty good passer and draws fouls at a decent rate. Just has to start making shots at a higher rate.

He didn’t say you could trade Keyonte for Flagg. Try again.
No, he didn't. Neither did I.

We both said "Flagg for the Jazz 1st this year + Keyonte + Minny/Cavs bad picks".

And no-one is doing that trade. Probably not even if the Jazz pick is #2.

@NUMBERICA Exactly what is your problem?

Flagg = Flagg
Keyonte = Keyonte = Key
let's say the #4 pick = the Jazz pick this year
some bad other picks = Minny/Cavs bad picks = the acquired 1st(s)

He didn’t say you could trade a bunch of stuff for Flagg.

I’m just trying to clear up any apparent confusion which there is a surprising abundance of starting with the point above.

I feel the same, but I also would be open to trading him if we get Harper or VJ, especially if we can't move Clarkson or Sexton. There is a point where our guard rotation is too crowded and we can't give all of our young guys enough development time.

It's pretty easy for me to see his path to a positive offensive player. He's a much better passer/play maker than what I would consider a chucker, he just needs to improve his shot profile. It's more difficult for me to see the path to be an average defensive player, but I think he's shown significant improvement since going to the bench and so I'm not mad at the progress.
