Kings sign Aaron Brooks - Jimmer on way out?

His best game.

Yes but very small sample set. He's played two games. One he played not so well, the other he played well (aside from 4 TOs). Ironically, the game he did not play well he had positive +- and in game played well had negative +-.

Hard to make anything much out of two games. I think some people are just looking for any reason to bag on Jimmer, and probably some looking for any reason to praise him.

Leading up to the draft, it was thought that Utah would pursue one of the top point guards — Kentucky's Brandon Knight, UConn's Kemba Walker or Fredette. When news broke before the draft of a three-team trade between Charlotte, Milwaukee and Sacramento, the Jazz were reportedly making calls in an attempt to move up and presumably take Fredette.
To be honest with you, we had Walker, Knight and Fredette rated higher on our board than No. 12," O'Connor said. "We had a lot of offers on the table at 12, but we're very comfortable with how it turned out.

O'Connor and Locke both indicated that Burks was higher on the Jazz board than JF. And as one who followed the draft. I never heard we were trying to move up and get Jimmer though I am sure we are always trying to move up. I think this is wishful sense making by Cougar fans.

Jimmer would have been the pick at #12 if there. KOC has never said one peep on his true board, we all know that's not how he operates.

How can he be a "good" 7th or 8th player in the NBA, when he can't even be a good 7th or 8th player on an awful Sac team? A good 7th or 8th NBA player playing for Sac would be their 2nd, 3rd, or at worst, their 4th best player.

I hate this argument. I think people need to start really factoring in where a player ends up when trying to assess how good a player is. Kawahi looked great last year because he played for Pop who used him perfectly. I guarantee if you switched Kawahi with Jimmer (putting Jimmer in SA for his rookie season) that people would have a lot different opinions on the two players. Not saying Jimmer would have been as good as Kawahi or that Kawahi would have been as bad as Jimmer, but a lot depends on situations, not just the player's skill level.

BTW - I'm completely against going after Jimmer.

If the Jazz didn't have such retarded fans, then maybe we could pull this off, but I'm convinced it would not end well for all parties involved.

I ask, have you watched Fredette in summer league? Stats are fairly pointless in Summer League. It's stuff that isn't in the box score that's important. The little bit I've seen of him tells me he can't dribble like an NBA point guard. He has trouble bringing the ball up. He can't penetrate. He plays defense like he's still at BYU (seeing him trying to go over an off ball screen was quite telling). I've also read from people at summer league that he can make the easy play/read, but has difficulty with the tight pass/read.

He's someone to avoid for now. Jazz currently have three points guards, all of them currently better than Fredette.

I've seen two of his summer league games. The first he looked horrendous. The second he looked like the worst teammate possible. I'm wholly against getting the guy (see previous post), but I do think in the right situation he could be respectable. Our retarded fans would not help things if he came here, but I do think if he went to NY he could find a niche. I wouldn't put it past Dolan to trade for him considering he just lost Lin for nothing.

Thanks for the inspiration.

I thought this was funny from a couple of sites I found.

yewt -

A small salamander-like creature native to the American southwest. The University of Utah adopted the amphibian as its mascot in 1943. In 1967, the University changed its nickname to the Runnin' Utes, altering the spelling to take advantage of the obvious play on words.
Excerpted from the University of Utah fight song: "Croak like a yewt (ute), don't go mute"

I may have to change my sig line to include "Croak like a yewt"
