i don't like it. if kirilenko leaves...i need a new name. no one will be left. think of the children.

Girl, you're a woman now. I'm sure you'll survive.
I'm the poster formerly named KKsquared. Lost both of those guys, but the sun still came up the next day and I thought up a new user name.

Yeah I call BS on this as well.
Kevin O'Conner woud have to be crazy to sign Jefferson, and Bell.... Then go ahead and downgrade our defense by replacing our former All-star with another defensive weakling that can shoot the ball a little bit.

Sweet... that deal was ****. I wanna know how in the hell, AK, who had been offered straight up for Vince Carter in the middle of his terrible max deal, gets offered for Diaw at the end... and we consider that.

But it's looking like this may not go thru now anyway. Which is better than losing that 17m expiring contract for freaking Boris Diaw.

If the trade does not go through, Jazz are a better team, and Miller has less money in the bank. I certainly prefer having a better team than Greg keeping more money this year. With that said, if the trade does go through, we are only a little worse off. AK is just not a difference maker to mourn his loss, and Diaw, as bad as his contract is, is a decent average player, almost like AK. So, it will be a just slight downgrade.

The good news is though that Denver will have a HUGE downgrade, and Anthony will be in the Eastern conference. Favors is nothing. He has proven nothing at all in any level. At his age Anthony was the best player in NCAA and won national title. Even Hayward accomplished more at that age than Favors. Favors was below average even by NCAA standards. He may never even become a good NBA player, not to mention a star. AK is not a difference maker either. If this trade goes through, we are pretty much back as division favorites for years to come. Nuggets from defending division champs become nuisance and will go back to crap of the franchise they were for decades before Anthony. This is a great news for us for years to come. If Denver ends up keeping Melo, they they are a force to be reckoned with this year, and who knows - if Melo stays for whatever reason (stranger things have happened), then they are a force for years to come. Hence, if this trade goes through, we are basically getting rid of main divisional rival for many years to come. So, just that alone is probably worth a slight downgrade from AK to Diaw.

Carmelo Anthony is continuing to push Denver to find a trade that will send him to the Knicks and has stepped back from a willingness to commit to the Nets. On Saturday, the Knicks were exploring ways to put together a package that might land Anthony.

Over the weekend, Anthony began having doubts about agreeing to a contract extension with the Nets. Yahoo! Sports reports that the four-team blockbuster that would send Anthony to New Jersey, which seemed to be gaining critical momentum on Friday night, is now at "a perilous crossroads."

Anthony’s desire to make a long-term commitment to the Nets started eroding when former Nets' players related their experiences with an empty arena, the apathy of fans, and the team playing in the shadow of the Knicks and Madison Square Garden. Anthony was already concerned about joining a team in New Jersey that would not be close to contention even with him on board.

"He’s having second thoughts on Jersey," a league source told Yahoo! Sports. "He’s pushed [Denver] to explore other options."

While the Nuggets still believe the deal with New Jersey gives them their best return, Denver engaged the Knicks on Saturday in discussions centered around Danilo Gallinari, Anthony Randolph and Toney Douglas, according to sources.

Sources indicated that the Knicks are working to pry draft picks to send the Nuggets in a deal for Anthony, and have contacted the Rockets for this purpose. Before last season's trade deadline, the Knicks sent their 2012 first-round pick to Houston, and agreed to swap picks with the Rockets in 2011, in a move to dump the contract of Jared Jeffries.

Geez, you are overrating AK. He was an All-star one year and that was five years ago. The young AK does not exist anymore except in your mind. AK got his big contract and stopped improving. Besides his ability to stay healthy is well documented and should be enough to get him traded.

Sweet... that deal was ****. I wanna know how in the hell, AK, who had been offered straight up for Vince Carter in the middle of his terrible max deal, gets offered for Diaw at the end... and we consider that.

It wasn't in in the middle of his max deal. Carter was going to become a free agent. It was an expiring contract for AK.

This deal is not dead. Denver is just doing its due diligence and making sure they can't get a better offer. I can't imagine them finding something better.

Denver is doing this to try and create panic on the nets side so they have leverage. Bulls won't trade Noah and the the Knicks don't have the pieces. Clippers shouldn't even be mentioned. Melo won't sign an extension there.

If we are not getting some draft picks out of this I don't see how we benefit enough on the court. There are some financial benefits but I hope that isn't enough.

So the Jazz trade for a small PG, who would be just a backup to DWill, who makes over 10 million?

As opposed to a small overweight PF who will be the 3rd string PF to Millsap and Jefferso when Memo gets back for the exact same money? I have to agree with Bentley here. Also Harris and Dwill can definitely play together.

Melo doesn't want to sign an extention unless it's the Knicks. So, the deal looks like it's dead unless Melo agrees to the extention.
