Knicks vs Cavs 1st Round Series (Mitchell Getting *** Whooped by Brunson Season 2)

I mean, I dont think it's that wild of a possible outcome.

I really have no idea what the market for Brooks will be. Maybe he gets a reality check. I think most of his persona is pretty fabricated and I think he could dial it back if he felt it necessary. It's the kind of thing I wouldnt do as a GM without having that face to face talk and I wouldnt be putting too much money into it.
Yes. Tons of guys change their "persona" on and off the court and do so at a discount.

I'm not saying Murray is a for sure guy I'd go get.. but if the price is an unprotected pick and some extras... then I think its something to consider. Could he take the leap from 34% to 37% from 3? Its not probable... but stranger things have happened.

What is the extras? I doubt Atlanta would even do that. They just traded two unprotected firsts, a protected first and an unprotected pick swap for him.

Right... and 50% of the contract he is on has been used up. So one unprotected pick and say the Philly pick this year... plus we send KO or Dunn or THT... or we just absorb the contract creating savings for them.

Trading a guy on an expiring contract generally mean you are getting quite a bit less than when he has 1.5 or 2 years left. The protected pick they got is garbage lotto protected Charlotte pick that turns into two seconds in 2025.

We also have the ability to do a renegotiate and extend contract with Murray using cap space. Atlanta can't do that. It would factor into the equation.

I'd do a deep background check on Murray and make sure I felt great about him. I'm sure Hardy dealt with him in SA and understands the risks there. Not saying I'd 100% do it but if that is the cost you have to consider it. It might not be the costs but I think there are logical reasons to say that is what the cost should be.

You do that if you know he’d extend but again I doubt Atlanta does that. I could be wrong.

I actually agree... they may say they ain't selling for 50% of what they got and walk. I also would want to have a deal in place on an extension... I ain't trying to do the George Hill 2.0 deal.

I think Atlanta likely tries to make it work and sells at the trade deadline if it isn't working. Most likely Collins is finally sold at a discount... I've already pitched KO and 28 for JC and 15... if we can't get Hendricks in the draft I'd strongly consider that type of deal.

Damn... Knicks doin work.

Imagine losing in the first round… 4-1… at home… to the team you grew up watching and wanted to go to this summer… and they got yo *** on NBA TV… I think it’s quite conceivable the trade request comes this offseason.

I think the Cavs come back and win this game.
