Korver and Burks trade

You can say that about pretty much anyone in the league 'idiot'
Exactly. That's why your comment was so stupid.
Glad you recognized your stupidity.

Since the Korver trade, the Jazz are 7-6, but are 2nd in net rating (+8.7), 2nd in defense and 13th in offense.

5-1 at home, 1st in home net rating (+18), 2nd in home defense and 7th in home offense.
Wow, crazy numbers! Net rating of almost +9 and only just above 500! One of those two lines in unsustainable.

I thought the Jazz could be a top 2 seed earlier on, even with some losses - but their path to a top 4 side is still truly there. In fact, I would consider them a favourite.

According to Basketball Reference, SRS (Simple Rating System), which rates teams based off point differential and strength of schedule, Jazz are 8th, and the 4th West team.

Hope Exum can continue good play. Would be nice to nail in the firm rotation of: Rubio, Mitchell, Ingles, Favors, Gobert, crowder, Korver, Exum
and have Thabo and Royce fight over the leftover minutes

Why are you still arguing for Burks then? The dude is terrible at best
I haven't been arguing for Burks.
I have supported the trade from day one.

I was just pointing out that something incorrect was said.

Fish... you write so clearly and make things so friggin easy to follow that it's unbelievable that people continue to not understand your premise. Oh well.

Nice Korver effect stats above. #2 in the league since the trade is ridiculous considering the 7 - 6 record. That's nuts! And that's all while Korver was shooting below season and career averages. More good to follow I am sure.

Tbh, I think if you gave Burks 30+ mins per game, gave him screens and told him to shoot or drive whenever the opportunity presented itself, he could average 20 pts on 42%/30% from the field. So the comparison on the trade really isn't Burks vs. Korver. It's who do you give the reins to and who was going to be on the team next year. And who has the bigger upside. Production wise, Burks should average more than Korver.

I'm not really concerned with the picks. Lindsey hasn't found anyone in the 2nd round outside of Neto and he's sold the pick a couple of times. My concern with the trade has always been letting go of a good expiring. Could a better player have come along nearer the deadline for which you need a couple of large expirings, for example, Porter for Favors and Burks and other assets? Almost tells me Lindsey doesn't intend to do anything at the deadline. He'll hedge his bets for the summer and make sure he can retain Favors if no one else agrees to sign (which they won't). Big name FA's want to play for a contender, not an organization content with just making money.

Yes, Burks could be a good stats/bad team guy. That's no surprise to anybody and didn't help the Jazz. Too many times Burks muffed up the offense by passing on a wide open 3 created for him for a tougher layup. I was a Burks or die guy but his instincts in the offense Quin sets up were counter productive. If you go stat for stat, yeah Burks is more versatile, but Korver is absolutely an offensive weapon by just forcing defenses to stay honest and focus more energy on preventing an open look from him.

I'd rather trade Burks for Korver than Burks/Favors/assets for Porter. Porter's deal locks us in cap wise. Also, the deal for Korver could have been more expensive towards the trade deadline since the Cavs did it in order to be able to use Burks expiring as well. Woj reported himself Korver was one of the hottest trade commodities among contenders. DL should get a lot of credit for the trade.
