You know I love the guy... but he’s not looking great in Cleveland. I don’t want to make it an AB bashing thread but get annoyed when posters here are like “we gave up a rotation player and got an old guy back” we got a good rotation player... I’m not sure AB is a rotation player... he tends to sparkle and fade. It’s a small sample for both dudes and I still want AB to succeed even if it means the Korver trolls get more ammo.

both him and Thabo will be out of this league soon. they can still contribute occasionally here and there, but both are simply way too old to consistently produce. our bench need more consistent production

Just saying that korver is better at some things (shooting) and Burks is better at some things (rebounding, creating, passing, drawing fouls, ball handling)

Shooting isn't the only aspect to basketball imo

Fwiw I think the jazz need the things korver is better at more than they need the things AB is better at and was ok with the trade.

Shared nationality. Pretty sure we're all meh on Korver right now. Nobody loves or hates him enough to troll.

OP is trolling him... he's been better than AB head to head. He's been mostly fine... last night wasn't bad... yet a Korver is Trash thread starts. He's a solid rotation piece. He's not Lebron.

He's hit double digits in 3 out of his 8 games... overall percentages ain't great, but let's give it say a 15 game sample before we declare it trash or fine.

The quality of threads has really taken a nose dive the last year or two.

Actually my main point was that it was a bad move because we traded a 1year deal for a two year deal of trash players. Plus two 2nd round picks. I think I clearly pointed that out. I have been off the Burks band wagon for a long time. I was one of the first to advocate trading him.

The title says Korver is trash... he is not trash... the second year of his contract is only 3 or 4 m guaranteed so if he sucks we can waive and stretch him and it only costs us 1M in cap space... we saved enough money this year in the deal to buy a second round pick (one of the picks was a trash pick the other in like two years). There now stop your bitching and go back under yo bridge.

Korver is aging and the first thing to go is your legs and that means your jumpshots are going to be short and that's exactly what is happening to Korver. If you need him to make maybe 1 or 2 key three pointers and end games on the free throw line, then he's serviceable. Is he earning what were paying him to do that? You tell me! But right now, the Jazz problems go way further than Korver missing jumpshots! Can we correct those problems? We did last year after the All Star break.

Shooting yes. His all around game has been pretty good though. His rebounding, passing, lack of turnovers, and his plus minus have been good. And his team is winning more since the trade. (Which isnt saying much)

Last night is a good example.
He played 26 minutes, shot horridly from the field, but had 5 rebounds, 14 points (3-3 from the line), zero turnovers, 1 assist, 2 blocks, and was a +8 in a game that his team won by 1 point against the pacers in indiana.
