Kyrie to Boston (Official)

Urgent recall notice issued:

Also, the Cavs just traded the #1 pick for the #60 pick plus filler.

They still have Jaylen Brown and Hayward on the perimeter. That's pretty good defensively at the 2 and 3.

More importantly, Marcus Smart, if he gets much burn at the 2.

Hayward is plus but big drop from AB.

Jaylen has tools, not sure his defensive effectiveness early in career. Could be good.

If not bottom 5, certainly bottom 10 (unless Ainge plugs gaps with a rim protector)

Nope. Haywood is a below average defensive player...
Ranks 40th among Small Forwards in Defensive RPM -0.08.
Nice try.

I'll defend Cy a bit. DRPM has never been kind to Haywood, but I think he is better than this metric indicates. He is def above average and I'd put him top quartile.

I bet GH feels somewhat stupid now, having a guy recruit him to the Celtics only to see him get traded a month later. lol The cavs gotten stronger and no way in hell is the Celtics beating the Cavs this year.

Can't wait for the 2017-18 bold prediction thread: Jae Crowder makes AllStar team over Haywood

Not to mention the incredible loyalty Ainge has demonstrated. I get it basketball is a business but at the same time, IT is coming off a year where his sister was killed in an accident during the playoffs and he didn't miss a single game, then needed his hip sewn back in, not to mention he's in a contract year. And Ainge goes full on heartless and ships him off to a rival. Like **** man. Ainge might send me to the Nets just for another pick at this point.

Not that the Jazz won't trade people, they traded D-Will I guess. But man seems like you're putting an awful lot of trust into someone who's loyalty is to one person: That ****in guy that he shared a chipotle burrito with at the airport.

I like Kyrie, but putting up clutch performances against defenders like IT and Steph isn't something that other guys couldn't do. Cavs sold high. That BK pick might net the best player in the trade if it ends up in the top 4 or 5.

Brad Stevens turned IT in a MVP candidate and top NBA scorer. WTF is he going to do with Kyrie Irving?
