The crossover drive for layup was pretty impressive

His and 1 drive as a pnr ball handler was pretty impressive.

Lyles seems pretty great around the paint to me. He seems to always finish or get fouled.
 
Lyles screams poor mans boozer in so much way! I wish we can help DL make this pick. I can say I always say Oubre and booker. We didn't even need Lyle. Why did he did this?

I wanted Frank the tank, then oubre, then turner, then a few other dudes (even portis) before I wanted lyles. Was very unhappy with the pick.

Then I watched highlight vids and listened to the positives about him and tried to like the pick.

After the first sl game allot of people were impressed. I was mildly disappointed.
This game was another disappointing one.

He has some good skills (passing and ball handling for his size) but so does every player that has ever been drafted in the nba.
He needs to become a good shooter or he will suck. It all comes down to his shot.
If he can become a good shooter then he will be a good pick...... If he continues to shoot a low percentage, he will be a bust.

2 sl games mean very little but so far, at this point, he don't look very good.

I love our team regardless of whether trey turns out good or not. (I predict that lyles will be mediocre and always a backup)
 
I'm not panic either guys, I always know this is not a good pick. I just get frustrated still that see it come true. And I have to see all this guys that will likely be better. Portis, booker, Oubre, grant, Payne, deker all had something to offer us. We didn't need lyles.
 
I, like Fish, hated the pick. Then tried to like it, but he sucks. It was a wasted pick. So disappointing. yeah, now I'm sad the Jazz won so many games down the stretch. And that Indy didn't make the playoffs. Turner looks great.
 
lol it's been 2 summer league games. Bargnani looked like a beast in summer league. Lyles hasn't played 5 on 5 in a long time and he's out of game shape. He'll look better when he plays with Exum and Hood in summer league and the rest of the good players during the regular season.
 
I wanted Looney more than Lyles. Can we trade Lyles for Looney? F'ing GS gets Looney at the end of the first. Dammit.

Still doesn't answer DL waste a high pick on position we don't need and even then not even the best one of tat position!!
 
I think Lyles will be pretty good, but it will take him 1 - 2 years to turn the corner. It's just normal physical maturation and figuring out what he can do as a PF. His body needs work. His shot needs work. His defense needs work. This is just summer league. He may get his *** handed to him in the regular season.
