Las Vegas Summer League Game Thread: July 11th - Utah Jazz vs. Miami Heat 7:30 PM PST

What is happen is now at the draft everyone gets pissed about this pick and most try and convince themselves that MAYBE it's not so bad.trust in DL. Jazz DNA buzzwords flying around. Now we see him and still just doesn't make sense and now I remember why I hate this oick so much!

I think Lyles will be pretty good, but it will take him 1 - 2 years to turn the corner. It's just normal physical maturation and figuring out what he can do as a PF. His body needs work. His shot needs work. His defense needs work. This is just summer league. He may get his *** handed to him in the regular season.

I hope you are right one thing we can do is know ip he is only 19 and maybe...maybe he will develop into something when we need booker moves on.

Lyles isn't a wasted pick. He'll probably be a solid rotation player, maybe more.
 
It took Hayward until his third season to develop into a reliable 2-way player. Lyles might be similar. He's got good feel and IQ. He's got good measurables. There's something to work with, for sure.
 
Lyles did alright. However, what bugs me about him is his shot and free throw attempts are too flat. There are no arc in them whatsoever. I cringed every time he made an attempt. He needs to work on those if he wants to make it in the league.

Probably right but he still needs to be able to make open shots

I'm tired of the 'rusty' trope. Last time I checked Lyles was on a team that made a final 4 run, so that means he shouldn't be as rusty as any other player coming out of this draft. Saw some peeps on this board compare him to Chris Webber or Bosh after the first SL game. Time to call it how we see it - Trey Lyles looked like puppy **** tonight and there aren't any excuses for his performance.
 
By the way, I was watching Exum at the end of game and he's still limping a bit. I don't think he'll suit up in any of the Jazz summer league games in Vegas. It's gonna suck... sigh.
