Both
I think for him to have been good at butler he would need to make shots.
Same for his nba career

If I recall Hayward shot 27% from three his last year at butler and was still their best player. Lyles would've played the 4 or 5 at Butler and spent a lot of time in the post, plus his shooting wasn't all bad. In some situations he was a good mid range shooter. Shooting isn't the end all be all of being a good player. Being able to shoot will only elevate a player in the NBA but u have to admit even if his shooting doesn't pan out he still has a nice skill set that can give him a nice long career

Many people already thought we got homeruns just because the Jazz drafted them. That is also confirmation bias booyah. Only Gobert is a home run.
Hood is at least a ground-rule double. Burke was a weak come-back to the pitcher. Exum has made good contact on some foul balls, but has also swung on a couple in the dirt. Hard to judge right now.

As for summer league, only Cooley, Cotton and C. Johnson should be invites to training camp (outside of Hood, Exum and Lyles, obviously). The rest haven't done enough to crack the Jazz' roster. I was high on Motum as a backup big after last year's summer league, but Cooley has outplayed and out-toughed him.

Banking on Lyles playing better. That game made me sad. I know Hood had at least one awful summer league game (and a few awesome ones) so here's to Lyles not playing like a loser.

Portis looks like a legit stretch 5. Plus he rebounds and has an in-between game. He also plays defense.

That's not a judgement on the Lyles pick, but Portis is going to be a good NBA player. He's like a high-motor, better IQ version of Andray Blatche. I had Portis rated higher than Kaminsky. Obviously, a bunch of teams passed on him. My guess is that there are certain players who do better in live games than in workout drills.

He isn't a 5, he was playing out of position. It showed when KAT got position low.

I still like Lyles. He's really smart and makes the right plays almost every single time. He just needs to be able to finish those plays, and everyone will be thrilled.

Oubre getting muscled around. What a bust. There's no way he will ever gain strength or get better. I mean if a rookie can't play lights out in his first two games ever, with no proper coaching or offense to run, he's obviously a loser.
