People were busting out the conspiracy theories minutes after the news broke. Some people want every major event to be more mysterious than it is. They want to solve a puzzle that isn't there. They want to be the clever one that sees what no one else sees.

They want it so bad they just go ahead and make it up, build their fantasy, crawl inside it and live there.

None of the conspiracy BS I've seen is even sort of convincing.

It is sad that people want so bad for reality to not exist. It is sad that there are so many people with this mental illness all around us.

i wiated 4 days for a motive to come out!

dems build a stage on the death and wounded minutes after it happened to repeal the 2nd amendment!

on the right certain indviduals started their conspiracy theories mintues after it happened

i waited for the motive which ussually is found within a day!

The fact is this mass shooting stands out precisely because authorities, such as the FBI, have not been able to determine the motive. With most mass shootings, it just usually does not take long before we know something about the shooter that serves as a clue as to his mindset, his worldview, his gripes, his affiliations, etc. And it troubles people when all of that is missing.

Conspiracy theories will always rush in to fill a vacumn. In the absence of an explanation that provides an answer to the question "why?", an answer to the question "did he have help?", and answers to the questions was he anti-this or anti-that, speculation runs rampant. I have seen conspiracy mongering suggesting he left a pro-ISIS tape; I have seen conspiracy mongering that he was pro-Antifa. So there are always some who will try to link guys like this to whatever end of the political spectrum they wish to link to evil deeds, they wish to link to political enemies/ideologies.

Others want to believe simply taking Valium can trigger violence. Well, I guess it can, but this seems to have been in the planning for quite awhile, and not just a paradoxical reaction to a drug. Did he scout out an event in Chicago? Fenway Park? And if so, why? It always comes back to why? It's only natural to want answers to these questions, and it's bound to be unsettling when no answers are forthcoming.

I'd like to hope we'll get some answers some day, but right now, it's not just the worse mass murder in modern American history. It's also the most baffling mass murder in our history. And the longer that's the case, the more growth we'll probably see in the belief that somebody is hiding the truth. Not for nothing, but we are living in the age of conspiracy theories.

Ok, so I'm going to backpedal a bit on what I said earlier about nothing to suggest more than 1 shooter. I'm still convinced there wasn't, but on some of the cell phone videos, you can hear an echo that's makes it seem as if there is more than one shooter.

I think the conspiracy theories are all wrong, but I can understand somebody listening to certain audio and confusing it for multiple weapons firing. If you examine long stretches of the incident and multiple recordings, it isn't hard to tell there is only one shooter.


Also, in that video Red posted, you'll notice a lot of people walking and acting as if they didn't believe they were in danger, despite police yelling at them to run. The reason for this is that they can hear the shots in the distance, and many people did not just did not believe they were within distance of being shot. Suppressors would have made it sound a lot further away and would have added to the number of people not taking the situation seriously.

he want women and families to be unprotected in flyover country. where it is different than in cities.

Nor do I expect you to, as there is plenty of evidence on which to form your own opinion. Which is why I try to post stuff like videos supporting why I believe what I believe,

Sorry, but when you're talking conspiracy theories and saying there are these reports of automatic gun fire being covered up, why are you talking about reports when we can hear for ourselves the rate of fire on multiple recordings? Automatic equivalent fire isn't being covered up, it's being widely reported and the NRA has already come out in favor of banning/regulating the modification that allowed the shooter to fire automatically.

Could it be that you haven't made an honest attempt to seek the truth for yourself and instead spend your time listening to talk shows telling you not to trust the media? The really funny thing is that you mentioned people on youtube making claims about automatic fire, when youtube is full of videos where you can see the incident for yourself and hear the rate of fire.

Anyway, I apologize if I interrupted your brain waves by penetrating the shell of your tin foil hat with liberal media videos of the incident recorded by those people who were actually there and had no idea they were working for the liberal media.

But, but, everyone knows the media is liberal and liberals want to take our guns away, just like Obama did. Why would they intentionally not report gun violence when doing so would support their liberal agenda?
