2009 - Ricky Rubio
2010 - DeMarcus Cousins
2011 - Jonas Valančiūnas
2012 - Thomas Robinson
2013 - Alex Len

To me, there have been 3 franchise players, 3 pretty terrible players (I guess Len doesn't really count yet) and 5 pretty decent players.

In other words, if the draft goes the way it has the past 10 years, Jazz have a 70% chance of going no where.

Last 10 (11) #2 draft picks

2003: Darko Milicic
2004: Emeka Okafor
2005: Marvin Williams
2006: LaMarcus Aldridge
2007: Kevin Durant
2008: Michael Beasley
2009: Hasheem Thabeet
2010: Evan Turner
2011: Derrick Williams
2012: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
2012: Oladipo

Look at the #2 pick. Even the "okay" players are complete busts for where they were drafted. This thing isn't as easy as lots of losses = high draft pick = great player. None of those connections are guaranteed

To be fair, you also have to look after #5 in all but the 2003, 2008 and 2010 drafts to see if better players were available. Some of the #5's you have listed were very questionable picks, even at the time they were made. Some were in very weak drafts. Still think this is a stronger draft than most, so a much better chance of getting a future all-star than a bust.

Absolutely. It's just fun to see recent history of the 5th pic and how it has turned out.

Absolutely will be. All star in few years for sure. Already had better stats than freaking fake all star Hibbert except blocks.

Absolutely is way to strong. I'm talking "franchise" player. Not a, "Roy Hibbert" make the all-star team type player.

In all fairness Cousins and Love didn't take their teams out of the doldrums of suckiness... so we must have an excellent shot of still sucking after this pick.

it cannot have 3 terrible players in a row. next one will be an amazing one. IT HAS TO BE A FRANCHISE PLAYER.......... Please
