What's new

Last draft I was down on Shabazz

Raptor arms and undersized for position = no good. He can't shoot the 3, his "monster strength" isn't really that strong by NBA standards. Beyond the arms and height, the kid is just too slow to defend. His handles that everyone thought he had are non-existant. He has a nack for rebounding--at the college level, but it panning out in the pro's isn't a sure thing when you think about his short arms and how undersized he is.

I feel like any team who takes him in the top 10 will be sorely disapointed.
A rich man's Rafael Araujo?

There is a reason newcomers to Jazzfanz look to me for guidance & inspiration. It's because I welcome them all to be part of our JazzFanz family. "Make yourself at home" mentality - my house is your house, is my house, is yours.

I feel as if it's my duty and take that ambassadorial duty very very seriously indeed.

Ambassadors usually think it's a great honor to have that title. In reality. it's just a nice way to get rid of them so they stop annoying us every day.

I'd take Exum, Parker and possibly Vonleh ahead of Randle. You might even convince me to take Gordon if he shows solid progress in developing offensive abilities.

I think Parker and Embiid stood out as better freshmen than Randle.

I only take Wiggins and a healthy Embiid ahead of Randle, but wouldn't even be a little surprised if he were better than both of them. Randle is a beast. I'm the guy the O.P. created this thread for. I hated Shabazz last year, but it's because he sucked. Randle was the best frosh in the country this last year and should be even better in the league as he will be able to play without seeing double teams 90% of the time he touches the rock and getting away from some of the most selfish guard play I've seen in years.

Oh, and Randle's a 4. Several on JF are down on him a bit and I've decided it's because everybody wants him to be a 3. Sorry, he's a 4 and he's a beast.
Overreact much.
You're seriously mistaken if you think there's anyone other than Hotttnickkk who thinks Randle is a SF.
I don't even think kkk even believes it. I think he's trying to get a reaction out of people.
Pretty sure PKM the only Shabazz homer from last year on this board
I was high on him too.

If he puts in the effort and evolves his game, he could be very solid pro. He should look at Faried, Boozer, and Millsap to see how strong, yet undersized pfs evolve their games. Because Randle is a solid rebounder, he could get good minutes as a rookie and get some putbacks and make an impact. Whether that is deserving of a Top 5 pick, I'm not sure.
