interesting choice vinylone - that's an old, old song! I'm not sure if this is the original or not:

looks like the original might be a version recorded in 1968 by Don Fardon titled "Indian Reservation" LINK to Youtube
but I can't seem to find any background on this though

Indeed it is! Ill Repute is a band from Oxnard which is right up the coast from LA. I wonder if one of the members in the band has Native American blood...

Thoughts on the new Bowie?

Def dig it. I'm a recent Bowieite and this recent track is another re-invention. He's still making great music and great videos for that music.

This album is almost 10 years old!! It remains one of the best from the west coast in that time, IMHO.

I've been a Bowie fan for most of my life - my favorite song as a kid in the 70's was Space Oddity. This new track took some time to grow on me, I could tell it was complex on the first listen, but I had to kind of concentrate on it, if that makes sense.

got through about the first minute, didn't really care for it

Keep listening, it completely changes at about the 4 minute mark.

"I'm not wrong for liking this kinda ****, am I doc? **** it, it was a beautiful night."

almost 20 years old and this track is still one of the best parodies of todays rap culture.. A forgotten gem for sure.. It's a conversation between a homicidal, date-raping manic psychopath from the ghetto and a Freudian Psychologist..
