Late check out at a hotel?

yeah but he got to enjoy a beautiful day and a nice view of the ocean

after the lousy winter and spring we've been having, it'd be money well spent!

Thanks to all those for the responses and suggestions. I just got home. I ended up finding a Starbucks with a nice patio and view of the beach. The weather was perfect and it was quiet enough where I could work and be on the phone.

Saved 79 bucks minus the 48 dollar parking ticket (totally forgot to refill the meter)

I'm still amazed that in today's age of smart phones that people still get tickets for expired meters.

There was a minor controversy over meters here. A group of college students were timing meters downtown and found that a bunch of them were counting out time faster than real time, sometimes much faster, like 30 minutes counted down in under 20 min. They brought it to the mayor's attention and they responded by just removing a bunch of meters and claiming they "fixed" the meters in the busier parts of downtown.

I've worked in the Hotel business for over 30 years. The only way your going to get to stay till 5 pm in your room on the day of checkout is......pay for the whole next day....have a special "rewards" type card that allows their platinum members to do that, or possibly know somebody on the hotel staff that has a lot of pull with the front desk or GM! If the hotel is not very busy, you have a better chance of getting a late checkout. If they are expecting close to a full house the day of your departure, you have virtually no chance of even getting a "late checkout!"
