Huntington

Went to electric lake, lake Cleveland, and Huntington reservoir yesterday. I caught one fish all day long lol.
I went with my dad and 3 of his friends (all over 70 years old) and had a really good time. Lots of old timey humor.

Between the 5 of us we caught like 7 fish total..... and we fished for like 6 hours. It was pretty crappy fishing but a really nice day.

Here are some pictures

lol. That is so awesome.

Thanks bro.

Gonna go try a river i have never fished before on friday.

I just love getting away from civilization as much as i can. Its hard to these days since there are people just about everywhere anymore. Luckily my job has wierd days off so i can go out to the mtns on weekdays and often have places to myself

Going camping June 23rd(ish) to 28th(ish) up mirror lake highway somewhere.

Where should I go?
What river/lake should I fish in?
What kind of tackle should I use?

i actually dont know the are that well. What i do know is that you will be in one of the most beautiful places possible and you will have an amazing time.

From what i know about the fishing in that area is that you will have lots of lakes and rivers to pick from (some you would have to hike too) and that most of them have lots of fish in them!
Also you should try to fish a lake that has Arctic Grayling in it. They are a cool looking and rare fish than can be found in lots of waters around that area.

You should take to the internet for more info on the mirror lake highway area fishing/hiking/camping though.
Im sure there is alot of good info for that are as it is held in very high regard by the camping and fishing community.

one place that i think you should definately try is Trial lake.

As for tackle..... i dont think the fish get very big around there so any pole or line should be fine.
Try powerbait, worms, and spinners (i always reccomend jakes lures and kastmasters for lakes)

What Fish said, except, don't use bait unless you're planning on keeping/eating all of your fish. They rarely survive when released if they bite a worm or power bait. I recommend taking a fly rod. Even if you never used one, the Uinta's is a great place to learn. Lots of fish, all are close to the shore, and they'll take dry flies all day, everyday. If you do take a fly rod, let me know and I'll give you a list of flies to take.

As for lakes, google Sand, Round, and Fish Lakes. They are all on the same bike, which is somewhat brutal, but worth it. Lots of cuttroat and Grayling. Grayling on a fly rod is one of thee greatest feelings ever.

Don't forget bug spray. The strongest you can find. You will freaking need it.

Trout knows much more than me about the area so take his advice.

Also, i think you are going at the perfect time. You will be at such a high elevation that everything should still be blooming up there. It should be beautiful.
Bring a camera and make sure to come to this threas and update us how it went afterwards

Dude, he asked the question on an INTERNET message board in a thread with "fishing trips" in the title. Not sure how you missed that.

Don't be fatuous, Jeffery.

On topic, spinners also work great up there. Silver and gold Blue Fox, size 0 (any bigger is just too big for those fragile fish), bright colored Rooster Tails, and just because FOJ brought sexy back, yellow Panther Martins. A small wooly bugger or large foam ant behind a clear bubble would smash them too: [video=youtube_share;J9BrJbALZzM]https://youtu.be/J9BrJbALZzM
