Gonna go try a river i have never fished before on friday.

So I went and fished the strawberry river today between strawberry reservoir and starvation with a buddy of mine.
The water in the river was clearer than any river I have ever seen and it was really quite shallow, which made for very challenging fishing! (the fish were VERY VERY skittish and due to the low, clear water, they could easily spot us coming and flee. So we had to be very sneaky)
I ended up catching 4 pretty nice Browns in a few hours, but my friend hadn't caught any yet and the banks had way too many bushes that made it hard to even get to the river for long stretches.... so we decided to leave pretty quickly and go to strawberry reservoir and try our luck from the shore there.

I caught one little rainbow and my friend got skunked again

Not the best day for fishing but we had a lot of fun! Rex enjoyed swimming in the lake and scaring the ducks.

As for wildlife.... saw some elk, a bald eagle flew in pretty close to me while I was fishing the river, saw 2 snakes, a couple lizards, about 10 rabbits, some marmots, squirrels, and of course the duck.

I've never hooked a single fish on a kastmaster. Not one. I don't know how you do it.

I caught a 6" rainbow once. But I was using it for about 2 hours... at dusk.

Anyways... Advice taken. $60 on lures, new line. Might even borrow a fly pole, even though I'm sure it'll be a comical sight watching me use it.
